Honda Accord 1.5T EX-L 2018 vs Mazda 6 GT 2017.5

I am super confused between these two cars. I have got decent deals on these cars. Mazda 6 GT 2017.5 is being offered to me at $28.5K OOTD while 2018 Accord 1.5T EX-L with parking sensors is being offered to me at $31K OOTD. I know it is a completely personal decision but I wanted to know more from the experts perspective. I am looking for the comparison between the performance, features, looks, resale value. To summarize my research the features are almost similar except for that the Accord 2018 has an 8-inch display vs Mazda 6's 7-inch display. Mazda doesn't have Android Auto but I guess they are going to do a retroactive update on all the previous cars once they launch android auto. Mazda comes with a heads-up display which is missing in EX-L.
Also, given the price I mentioned which car is the most value for money for me?

Go with the one that has blind spot monitors on side mirrors. If both have them, drive both and go with the one you like better to drive. If it's fairly even, I'd go with the Mazda based on the $2500 savings. Seat memory might be nice to have on the accord if you're going to have two drivers of the car. Not sure Mazda has seat memory. Adaptive cruise control... is that on the Mazda?

Well, a 2015 Mazda6 GT is worth about $3500 less than a 2016 Accord 4-cyl EXL. So it seems the Accord in this scenario should have a slight edge on resale value. But it is such a small difference that I'd go with whichever you prefer driving.

Neither would be a bad choice; drive both and buy the one that gives you the biggest smile. I wouldn't factor the presence or absence of any Helen Keller("driver's assistance") packages into your decision- it's far better to learn how to properly adjust your mirrors.

With everything else so close, this is definitely a "seat time" decision. I agree, Honda definitely wins on resale, if for some reason that's a really big factor for you.

Seriously, go with whichever car has the blind spot monitor (unless they both have it)-- you don't want to adjust mirrors in some funky pattern that detracts from overall safety. What if you leave your fuel door open by mistake-- you won't be able to see that if your mirrors are adjusted all the way to Abilene.

Yes, by all means, do not adjust your mirrors properly; it is much more important to monitor your fuel filler door.

So Mazda 6 GT doesn't have seat memory. I might be the only driver for this car. Mazda has radar cruise control but it does not start from 0 speed like Accord's.

That was a good piece of information. I Intention that I'll also a an additional $500 new grad discount from honda which is not present in mazda.

$500 is not enough of a difference to mandate choosing the runner-up.

Is it worth adding the Qi Wireless Charging feature in Accord for an additional $500?
I believe all the new phones henceforth will have the wireless charging in-built. I am just concerned about whether the technology is really worth it now since it is in its early stages.I don't want to add a feature which becomes redundant in just a couple of years.

Not for $500; wireless charging takes longer and can sometimes be fiddly.
