4x4 problems

97 Chevy 1500 4x4 Push button select 2hi 4hi 4low. Will go into 4 low fine but when I push 4 high it makes noise then both 4 hi and low buttons light up but it’s not in 4 wheel drive at all. 2hi button never lights up. Put on a new selector switch the one on the inside. Any ideas? Thanks

Thanks I had seen that video. Unlike his mine will go into 4 low but not 4 hi and the 2 hi button will never light up

He was talking about having a schematic and it sure sounds like that would be helpful to you. That way you follow the path from switch to components and test them one by one.

I'm wondering if a good scan tool would help locate the problem.
