Does the Chevy colorado 3.5l cut off engine when oil pressure is low
Just bought 2008 Chevy Colorado after warming up engine cuts off at idle or while braking
I was told low oil pressure was cutting engine off

No, that is not correct. You'll have to look for other causes. Have you run a scan for trouble codes? Does the truck start right up again?
There are many reason for stalling, so you have to go at this step by step in a logical fashion. If it were my truck, after doing the scan, if nothing comes up, then I'd test the fuel pressure and see how that reads to spec.
I'd also look for conspicuous vacuum leaks, like a loose or cracked hose somewhere.1

the motor WILL restart and stay running if you hold rpm’s up only shuts down AFTER warming up to temp does not over heat
only when idling or stopping(foot off gas and braking) will it quit
idle does not bounce up and down it stays steady then it drops revs up then off
