supply problem or super popular?

Hi-

I'm trying to be super frugal in buying a relatively new reliable car with high mpg. Honed in on the Focus Hatch SE w/ manual until I learned a little about the diesel Cruze. I'm looking everywhere and can't find diesel w/ manual. Am I missing something about the availability or is this just super popular and hard to find? Appreciate any insight!

Low supply, relatively high demand.

In some areas manuals are a very hard sell to the point the stores won't order any of them. Could be super unpopular. Hondas are that way it least in my neck of the woods. They make fewer every year. Diesels may be different!
