2011 Equinox LT Camshaft issues

I just took my 2011 Equinox in for the second camshaft actuator replacement in two years. The vehicle is only at 63k miles and is used for limited city driving. They're also running a test for the known oil burning issue. Could these issues be related? Has anyone else had this issue?

    You mean the camshaft literally snapped in half or do you mean the camshaft actuator failed? The latter is a common failure on 2.4 motors.

    @Mr_Shiftright
    My apologies posting from my phone it was the camshaft actuator.

    How did it fail? What was the symptom? Did you get the Check Engine Light and associated code? I haven't heard of anybody replacing Camshaft Actuators, and they're not even included in the Timing Chain Kit - an indication that they're WAY down on the failure list after the Camshaft Sensors, Solenoids, Tensioners, Guides, and Chain.
