Hi, Yes it's a 02 Daewoo Lanos SX 3 door 1.6l 5 speed manual – and before the hate starts it's a daily to work driver that I use due to cheap fuel lol. It was out of service for a while. I got it going again and when slowing noticed I couldn't get the car into 2nd gear, it would select a gear, only it was not second. When i pulled up I thought I would check the box and run through them all, 3rd, 4th, and 5th no problem, but I could not get the lever into reverse, 1st or 2nd (on a daewoo reverse is up and to the left) So its almost like the left hand side of the box has failed. Now the gears wont go in regardless if the engine is running or not. There was no banging or grinding or burning smells etc and the only thing that comes to mind was that 2nd was getting harder to go into. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on what the problem could be as it's been a great little car. I need to work out though if it's worth the cost of repairs. A mate of mine said linkages? I have no idea. Thanks in advance.

An experienced hand might be able to feel if there is excessive wear in the shift fork, and visual inspection might reveal any shift linkage wear or adjustment is required.  If the problem cannot be located externally, then it might need to be opened up.
