More to think about: If you've got the ability and the time, I'd take out the spark plugs, and turn the engine over with a long breaker bar and socket on the crankshaft nut. When you take out the spark plugs, put some oil in each cylinder using a pump can to squirt some in.
Then use a fresh battery and starter to spin engine at higher speed to prime the oil pressure through all the lines with the new oil. Put the plugs back in, and go for it.
Alternative would be to disable the ignition by removing a fuse for injectors or spark. Spin engine with starter to prime oil. Then go for full start.
