I bought a 2000 Mustang convertible from my daughter. When I put the top up, the metal things do not go into the holes like they should. Is there a fix for this?
What do you mean---the pins don't line up properly. Is the top crooked or cocked when it goes up--out of alignment?
If that's what you mean, then check your hydraulic fluid level. Remove a drive motor filler plug. Fluid should be level with bottom of plug hole. If needed, refill with Mercon Multi-purpose ATF (XT-2-QDX). If it's low and you refill it, operate the system a few times to get the air out of it.
