Transmission on 2011 Cadillac CTS 4 dangerous to drivers
I own a 2011 Cadillac CTS4, purchased new from Salt Lake City dealer, currently has 27350 miles and serviced regularly. Today pulling away from a stop sign my wife and heard a terrible bang and then the car stopped. Engine running, no movement, grinding when tried to move into park. Car has been towed and we are waiting to hear from mechanic. From a simple search we’ve learned there have been numerous owners reporting problems with the 2011 CTS4 transmission, especially with the spline. We never received notice from GM about this. Very surprised as the internet is flooded with reports of other owners experiencing the same issues. If we’d been on an Instertate, or steep hill, or other dangerous terrain we would’ve been in trouble. Would love to hear if anyone has experienced a similar issue and what Cadillac/GM did to remedy the issue.
