Just got back from dealership. This is the lease deal I got on a 2018 challenger RT blacktop package. I think I can do better?

After talking with the salesman he said he’d give me another $500 on my trade in to reduce the monthly payment to $365 including tax. The msrp on the sticker of the vehicle he gave me is $39130. Seems they added the extra $500 from trade in on the msrp.

Salesman came back with the “lease buyers order”. These are the numbers on that.

$365 first month payment
$0 security deposit
$250 doc fee
$78.25 title and reg fee
$567.17. Tax on cap cost reduction
$8750 total cash due at delivery

$2500 net trade in equity
$4250 rebates and non cash credits

$2000 total due

Seems the rebate / incentives dropped a lot on the buyers order.

If anyone can chime in on this deal. Have a few days until vehicle is supposed to be delivered. Much appreciated

Looks like a 3rd party lease, with those incentives.

Relative to MSRP, that looks like a decent payment.

We'd suggest you skip using the trade equity, and only pay the first payment and registration costs at signing. You'll have a higher payment, but less money out of pocket.

Thanks for your quick response Michaell. I’m new at leasing so this may seem like a dumb question, but we never spoke about the actual selling price of the car. Obviously I know you can negotiate the sales price of a vehicle when buying it. From what I’ve researched online, I can negotiate the vehicle price for a lease also? I thought the lease payments was the msrp of the car x residual % divided by term of lease. Thanks for your help

That's incorrect.

MSRP X residual percentage = residual amount.

Negotiated price + other charges - down payment = Adjusted CAP cost.

(Adjusted CAP cost minus depreciation) / term = monthly depreciation
(adjusted CAP + residual) X money factor = monthly finance charge

Monthly depreciation + monthly finance charge = pre-tax monthly payment

The only part of the calculation that MSRP plays a part in, is to determine the residual amount. The price you negotiate controls the rest of it.

On the 2018 models, the Widebody residual is 4% lower than on the standard body Hellcat. No info on if that's true for the 2019 model.

Just so you all are aware, the "widebody" is now a package you can add to hellcats. It is no longer a stand alone model, hence why they cant see the numbers.
