Passat light problems

My passat 2014 went cracy when i towed trailer. After unplug the trailer car still thinks it is connected. Dasboard shows warnings that all of the trailers bulbs are broken. I can not get Towing hook back to its place under the car beacuse release button does not work. What to do. Ho can i car to understad that trailer is not any more connected to the car.

    That's weird. I think what I might try is to find the circuit that fuses the trailer wiring, and then pull that fuse for a little while, and see if that resets whatever sensors are upset at the moment.

    This may have to do with how the trailer wiring was spliced in, so wherever that connection is, is also suspect.
