My toyota avalon, 1998 leaks oil and the mechanics cannot figure out where it is coming from

My 1998 toyota Avalon leaks oil. We see it on the ground after parking and have to add at least one pint extra every 3 thousand mils to make up for it. We had extensive work where they changed different things and they still cannot figure out where the leaks are coming from. Is this something that happens to Avalons in that year? If so, what can we do about it if anything? The mechanic said I might have to live with it. The car has 171,1000 miles on it.

One quart every three thousand miles is a very slow/small leak. On a car with 171K miles, it's not enough to worry about, IMO.

Its not just the oil added, i see it on the ground in the front of the car when i pull away

Well I'd live with it personally, but there's no reason your mechanic can't put this car on a lift and find the leak, especially if it is already dripping. You might ask him if he has an oil dye kit, which is sometimes used to trace particularly difficult, hard-to-find leaks.

You can put some newspaper down overnight and see exactly where the drip is coming from, or at least where it is collecting.

He did the die thing. He also replaced valve caps as well as some other major part. He feels there are multiple leaks
