Interested in a Rabbit as well as my current lease ends next month. It’s been a while since I’ve used the Edmunds calculator. Just want to double check my math using these numbers and a sales price of a GTI Rabbit in my local dealer of $31,539:

Thanks for the quick reply. To be clear this isn’t a quote from a dealer this is just me trying to gauge worse case scenario for a lease. I am assuming MSRP is the sales price, I know that’s a terrible deal but it’s  just to get an idea of the max monthly payment. The $1000 down i’d be putting is for 1st month payment plus fees. It seems there’s more to this than just plugging numbers, I’ll read through the rest of this thread and the 2018 thread to see how people got to their numbers from the dealer.

$430/mo+tax, assuming first payment and fees are paid at signing.

When using a lease calculator, you can't apply your entire upfront money to down payment. If you are paying fees upfront, it's best to leave those out of the calculator. Then, your down payment is zero.

We gave you the correct numbers.

2018: .00041 MF and 51% residual for 36/12
So, as you can see, that isn't a mistake.

Run as far away as you can from that dealer.

Has anyone scored a good deal on a GTI lease recently? I just tried my local dealer and was told there are no lease incentives on the GTI, which is fine I understand that, but that doesn't mean I should take out a lease on the full MSRP, just like I would never buy the car at MSRP. Just curious...

Given the lease programs, I'm not sure that a good lease deal is possible.

But I agree with you that there should be some discount from MSRP, regardless.
