Hole in engine coolant leak

I have a my G6 has my G6 has developed a serious coolant leak there is about a 1 inch diameter hole on the driver side of the block maybe 3 or 4 in below the coolant tank when you start the car coolant comes gushing out of this hole what would cause that

Can't really orient myself with that photo. Could it be coming from the intake manifold?
