Sebring key problem

2005 Sebring won't start.
Symptoms are key in & on = dashboard sort of lights up, no radio or heater fan, no gauges work. The gas tank is 1/2 full but gauge does not show it.
Hazards are OK - headlight flasher is OK, but no headlights.
Battery voltage is good.
Try to start & the starter relay under the hood clicks.
The car was running recently but has been sitting for a few weeks.
Has the key lost communication?
I just found a reset process on here that I can try tomorrow.
Any ideas?

If you hear the starter relay and there's no "security " light on, I don't think the key is the problem. You might check the battery voltage, and clean all the cables. Try a jump start after you do that. You could also give the starter motor a few solid taps with a hammer (don't wail on it, just tap it smartly).

Good thought. The cables are clean, so I'll try the starter motor.

They may look clean but you never know. If you know how, you could do a voltage drop test. There are plenty of videos on YouTube. Cables can have internal corrosion or high resistance.
