my Tahoe will drive fine for about a week or two and then it won’t turn back on after turning it off for a short time ... it then has to sit for 6 hours + before it will run again.

General information would be to tart with the easiest. The engine needs spark, air, and gasoline.

Does the engine crank over with the starter but just not start running like it should after cranking?

I can turn it on but I can’t start it. I feel like it has something to do with my fuel system bc for one my fuel pump sounds absolutely disgusting when it’s priming and then it cuts out really bad when I drive and once it dies it stays dead for a day or 2 . All the relays are good and my fuses aren’t blown. I’m not sure what else it could be. I use the right gasoline and I never let it get all the way empty and yes it will crank over but it doesn’t run .

Does the fuel pump run for a couple seconds when you are turning the key to crank the vehicle and it doesn't start?
You might try turning the key to ON, then back to OFF as soon as the fuel pump stops. Then back to ON, wait, then OFF. See if that increases the prime fuel pressure enough to start the vehicle.

HOWEVER, since it's cutting in and out while driving, I would get it diagnosed and fixed.

That could be the fuel pump, since you say it seems to have problems with loud noise as its symptom.

However, other problems could be in the electronics. Or in ground connections or battery positive connections.

If someone has the ability to spray some ether into the air intake while it's being cranked and won't start running, the test is that if it fires up when the ether goes it, that indicates the fuel is not going in properly from the gas tank. Pump. Injectors.

If there's no effort to run when ether goes in, then think of the spark system. Again, a check for that is take off a spark plug wire and use an old spark plug or lay it near engine metal to see if there's a spark there while someone is cranking the engine.

If your Tahoe has a battery where there are two or more red cables connected to the positive post, check between them for corrosion. On leSabres of that era there was a lead spacer between the two cables and corrosion could keep power from getting to the second cable. The corrosion would come and go with humidity and after a period of time the connection would work again to the second red cable.
