Sorry, forgot to add... Also looking for a reasonable estimate of delivery fees, Motor Vehicle, and Dealer fees as I expect these will help me judge if I'm getting a best price or not.

    Thanks again!

    .00151 and 63%
    $1000 incentive

MINI has a $925 acquisition fee
Dealer likely has a $400-600 dealer fee
A few hundred for registration costs

    Thanks!

Does the dealer incentive reduce the Negotiated sale price or is it factored in another way?

I believe, for MINI, the incentive is to the dealer, so will result in a lower selling price. Not obligated to disclose to you, so factor it into your negotiations.

So, I got a quote from a dealer. Negotiated price vs. sticker price seems reasonable for a first go round, but there are numerous fees that I was not expecting.

Nitro-fill which I'm presuming is about nitrogen fill of tires = 199
    Taxable fees = 599
    Tax on a 36000 adjusted price = 1075
Non-tax fees = 1409 (which based on the above seems to be dealer acquisition + dealer fee.

Went on the NJ taxation site which said NJ state tax for new cars maxes out at just of $500, suppose some of that could be DMV charges then?

Deal at 10000 miles for 36 months: is a payment of $434 with no money down.
    Drive off fees = 3516

D.O.F. Seem to be a total of all taxes and fees and first month payment. But I'm concerned the fees look a bit high as well.

    Sticker =38995
    Negotiated price = 35995
    Nitro Fill = 199
    Fees and taxes = 3081

    Residual = 24567

If I'm paying all of the fees and taxes up front, isn't it reasonable that the Adjusted cap cost = 35995 + 199 for the nitro fill or 36194?

If that is the case, with this residual and MF quoted above, I'd expect to be closer to the $400 a month range for payment, no?

    What do you think?

Thanks for the assist on this!

Let's review the fees and taxes:
Nitro - junk; negotiate a lower selling price to compensate
Taxable fees - this is the dealer doc fee. A bit on the high side for NJ; negotiate a lower selling price to compensate
Tax - NJ taxes the sum of the payments and collects the money up front. You can pay it at signing, or add it to the monthly payment
DMV Fees - NJ collects 3 years of registration, up front. Either $59/yr or $84/yr, depending on weight

We recommend your out of pocket at signing be only the frist payment and DMV costs. Roll the taxes and other fees into the monthly payment. You'll have a higher payment, but you won't risk losing that up front cash if the car is stolen or totaled.

Ask the dealer to give you a quote with only $1000 due at signing.

Are dealers allowed to adjust the Money Factor or is this generally set by the leasing company? If so, should I expect a better MF if I have excellent credit?

Have three quotes now: MF's are .00175, .00175, and .00183

Best quote is about 5500 off of sticker, but I don't have details on the fees yet. Still waiting for a breakdown, but seems if they are in line with your suggested fees, this might be a good deal.

Dealers are allowed to mark up MF, as much as .00040.

If you determine that the MF is inflated, simply tell the dealer you won't sign a deal unless you get the base rate.

Thanks for all the help. Think I got a pretty fair deal after all the guidance from this forum.

$39000 sticker. $425 lease payment on 10000 a year with only first payment and MV out of pocket. Picking it up over the weekend!
