I cannot accelerate and my vehicle is stuck in first gear. Any suggestions what the problem may be?

    This might be electronic in nature. I would suggest having the transmission control module (TCM) scanned by a technician. It could be a shifting solenoid, or a wiring harness issue, which wouldn't be too bad a repair. If it's an ECU communication problem, (main computer)that could be more problematic.
