Engine suddenly shuts off while driving.

The engine suddenly shuts off while driving and at slower speeds shuts off when applying brakes. Diagnostic result suggested the problem is with the mass airflow control. changed that, but still shuts off. Where do I go from here. I'm trying to avoid an expensive repair visit to dealer.

You might check carefully for vacuum leaks and for a stuck open EGR valve.

These are just guesses. You really should have a careful diagnostic done on it.
