2019 Honda Civic Sedan LX, is this a good deal?

Local dealer is offering $89/month, 36/12k, $3,999 down plus tax, title and doc. fees.

I know this is a heavy down payment but averaged out it's a total monthly payment of $211 after tax, which seems like a good deal for $20k car.

Any thoughts? Thanks

Right, but you still need to pay your fees and such.
    What ZIP code is this?

We recommend only paying the first payment and registration costs, up front.

    .00089 and 57%
    $1200 incentives

OH taxes the monthly payment, and collects the money up front. You can choose to roll it into the monthly payment however.

    Doc fee capped at $250
    Acquisition fee is $595
Both should be added to the cap cost

Ask the dealer for the cap cost and payment with only $300 due at signing.

Thanks for the help. Where are you getting the $300 figure from?

Is the only reasoning for reducing up front cost to avoid losing a big down payment if car is totaled or stolen?

Doesn't down payment reduce cap cost and therefore total interest paid?

I have excellent credit so I could probably get a low down payment if I understand the reasoning, but I'm new to leasing. Thanks.

    That's the main reason.

I just leased a 2019 civic lx. Advertised deal is $225/mo, no money down. This is in NEPA (18505).
I walked away only paying about $500, which included first payment and all the taxes and fees. I got a great deal.

I've been leasing for the last 9 years, and refuse to put any money down (except the initial first payment plus fees). Just think of it this way....wouldn't you rather have that $3000.00 in your bank account rather than give it to them? Yes, your payment will be more, but if you got into an accident driving out of their parking lot, you just burned $3000.00. I know people who want a low monthly payment and they do put down money first, but I just don't get it.

Thanks for the explanation. I actually already signed for $250/mo, zero down, first payment only at signing. Sounds like I should have gotten that down even lower!

That's great. I'm glad you didn't have to put money down.

Question for you: I posted in another forum but no answers yet. I'm assuming that you don't have Sirius in the lx? I don't, but since I already had a subscription from the other car, they sent me a radio to connect. I just can't figure out how to connect it since it needs an "aux in" port, and the lx doesn't have one. You come across this?

Nope, no Sirius for me. Does the radio have bluetooth?
