How do I connect Blower motor resistor leads
My 2006 Durango blower motor bound up and burned up the resistor and about 4 inches of the harness including the connector. I spliced new wire into the harness and replaced the connector with 5 solder-less lugs. The color coding stripes are color-shifted because of the heat, and I need to know which lead connects to which blade on the resistor. Can anybody help?

Looking at the blower resistor before you install it it creates a series of resistors. Each terminal allows increasing sets of resistors to be connected starting with no resistors between terminals 1 and 2. Then one resistor between terminals 1 and 3. Two between 1 and 4. Then the last connection would be three resistors between 1 and 5.
Now using the test light connected to power on the lowest blower setting the light will show you ground on just one of the wires, it is the Dark Blue/ Brown. Connect that one to terminal #5. Moving the blower control to the next highest speed will connect only the Dark Blue/ Orange. Connect that one to #4. Doing it this way you don't actually have to see the wire colors. The next fastest speed goes to terminal #3 and High speed goes to #2. The blower motor ground connects to #1.
