Lease Loyalty 60 day Problem

I turned in a 2017 Subaru Legacy at the end of a 3 year lease in early October. 10 days later, I ordered a 2020 Impreza, which Subaru let me know by email would not be delivered until the last week of December, I was okay with that, my wife has a 2012 Impreza that we can share until then. As a repeat customer, Subaru forgives the $300 turn in fee on returned leased vehicles as long as the customer orders another Subaru within 60 days. Today, I received an invoice for $300 from Subaru for turning in the Legacy. Even though I have ordered another Subaru, they won't waive the fee because the Impreza won't be delivered within the 60 day window. So basically, their slow delivery (70+ days) justifies them charging a fee to a repeat customer. I don't know what business world they live in, but that is not a way to keep customers.

Perhaps you can speak to the GM of the dealership where you ordered the Impreza from, and explain the situation. You could ask for an extra $300 off the selling price of the new car when it does arrive.

I agree... tell your dealer, and ask them if they can do something about it.
