What tools will I need to remove dr door panel to fix power window?

I have an '08 Chevy Trailblazer LT with the 4.2L L6. The driver's window won't raise and lower and we believe the window is out of the track. We can fix this but I want to make sure I have the right tools (a video would be super!) before we start. I'm new and all help is greatly appreciated.

I don't know your specific vehicle but generally there are a couple of screws to remove in the door handle/release recess (may be behind a cap) area, maybe speaker cover, and then prying away (pulling out plastic pins) and then lifting up an inch. Usually no special tools.

Interior trim tools are helpful to remove door panels, etc. They can often keep you from breaking clips, or tearing the clips out of their holes.

Also, it's likely that your window regulator has failed, and not that the window is off track.

There's not been anything said about the symptoms you're getting. But I'd suggest taking out the door switch and troubleshooting the contacts there if you can get a circuit diagram.

A cursory test to see if your door switch is activating the motor is that usually a slight noise can be heard when activating the motor with the switch with on other things off and the key ON.

And to concur with Kyfdx's post, based on most others I read about for various GM's, I'd suggest looking up somewhere to remanufacture your regulator or buy a replacement from Ebay or rockauto.com, etc., if it turns out to be the regulator.
