Any help with malfunctioning door locks, both remote and manual.

I have a 2016 Chevy Colorado, and a couple weeks ago, while parked, I was not able to lock, or unlock, my truck with either the remote or manually. I went directly to the dealership, but by the time I got there the issue had resolved itself. The issue returned yesterday, and I'm suspicious it may have something to do with moisture because both times this happened it was raining outside. Can anyone direct me to the part that may be malfunctioning?

When you say "manually" I assume you mean by pushing the button on the doors to lock or unlock the doors?

Did the emergency horn function on the keyfob work?

I picture the system as a sensor that receives the radio signal from the keyfob which then sends the signal to the body control module or a subset of another module which performs that function. If the interior lock buttons would not activate either the lock or unlock functions, I'd suggest you have a misfunctioning body control module. I would not think it's a keyfob problem or problem with the receiver for the signal from the keyfob.

Where located and how on that vehicle I don't know. It also may require programming by computer when replacing. My first thought since you associate rain or high moisture level with the malfunction, is that there may be a connection problem for the module like the fretting that occurs on some vehicles causing the low voltage connections to lose contact with the connector's other surface.

My first attempt would be loosening the connectors on the BCM and reconnecting them. I would do it with the negative battery cable disconnected to avoid any kind of spike during the process.

For a dealer to catch the module misbehaving will be difficult unless it gets worse and stays inactive.

Yes, when I said "manually", I meant manually pressing the door lock would not function. The emergency horn function worked when it first started doing this, but the last time it only functioned intermittently.

From reading another thread, I was thinking it may be the RCDLR (Remote Control Door Lock Receiver), but now you've given me something else to consider.

I've had the remote checked, and it is functioning properly, as well as battery strength.
