Transmission
So I stored my 17 Accord V6 Touring all winter in my buddies garage. Went to take it home today and battery was drained. Boosted it and let idle for 20min. Get down the road and it’s slipping gears. In S mode it won’t let show me what gear I’m in and doesn’t let me manually change gears...do you guys think I just might need a new battery?

Once running above idle the alternator should have been able to support normal operation, unless certain modules had already coded for system voltage issues. One thing that is usually overlooked is the alternator is NOT a battery charger. It can keep a healthy battery at a full state of charge under normal operation but can be damaged from overheating if it is used to attempt to charge a battery that has been totally discharged. Another thing to know about charging systems is in order to try and protect the alternator from overheating the alternators are usually set to a lower output voltage by the engine control module. A battery that has been discharged needs to be charged with a battery charger and takes about four hours just to get back to about 60%.
You might need to replace your battery, they do get damaged by a full discharge.5
