Need advice on buying a car with accident reported.
There is a 2018 Honda Civic on sale for 16,000 with 32,000 miles on it which is about a $2,000 markdown according to Carfax
. There is an accident reported on the car.
-Involving front or side impact
-Involving front impact with another motor vehicle
-Functional damage reported
-Airbag deployed
I really am interested in the car and have been in talks with the dealership and they have supplied a copy of the Carfax report and have given me a video tour of the car as I have not seen it in person but I am familiar with the model. The salesman has told me that others are interested but probably a sales tactic?
I would really like advice on what to do or even what I can bring to the bargaining table because of the history it has? I have a trade-in, pre-approval for a loan, and 25% down.

Go look at YouTube videos of poorly reconstructed accident damage.
And what does “functional damage” mean? That could be anything from a popped tire to a car that broke in half.
