Check oil light

I have an 06 Chevy Aveo. I had an oil change done two months ago. Recently I started having power issues and upon inspection found my air intake hose to be cracked. I replaced the hose 4 days ago and everything improved. This morning halfway to work my check oil light came on. I bought a quart of oil to hold things until I can get to the auto shop after work. My question is, could the bad air intake hose have caused me to burn more oil thus causing my oil to go low?

Is it an oil level warning, or an oil pressure warning?

Didn't know there we're two oil warning lights. It is the oil can dripping oil light if that describes it. Don't think it showed lines under but I can't remember. after I put the quart of oil in & drove it around work parking lot the light didn't show again.

There is probably just one warning light. You might want to check the owner's manual to find out what it signifies. Low on oil will sometimes cause low oil pressure, but it may take being very low on oil for that to happen. Low oil pressure is a much more serious problem than just being one quart low on oil.

Thanks I was just curious if the cracked hose could have caused me to burn more oil or if I needed to check for other problems

Seems doubtful that an air intake could cause you to burn oil, but that might be out of my depth.

I would definitely check the oil level with the dipstick.
