Can I arrange and pay a lease in one state for a relative in to get the car in another state?

I have a grown child who is moving to San Diego, CA.

We are considering leasing a mazda cx 30, and I want to know if I can sign a lease deal at my local dealer in Indiana and if they would be able to take delivery of the car at a local dealer in CA.

Has anyone ever done this or have any advice?

That seems unlikely. Is it your plan to have the lease and registration in Indiana, while your child lives in CA?
I think that would cause issues.

It would be easier to negotiate the lease with the CA dealership, then have your adult child come in to sign the papers and take delivery.
