ya i just purchased an '08 mark lt and the breaks seemed too soft with a lot of travel. took it back to the dealership 2 days after i bought it and they took a look at it. bleed the brakes etc. said everything was fine. felt a little better but still don't seem right!

Our 2007 Lincoln Mark LT truck has a brake failure (truck sometimes won't stop) that the dealer refuses to fix and will not report to Ford Motor Company. We have had it to the dealer 3 times for the same problem. The dealer/owner said that it will cost us a lot of money to get into another vehicle. I believe that there is something wrong with the ABS on this truck. At this point I will stay away from any more Ford products due to the way I have been treated about this serious saftey problem. The truck is still under warrantee by the way.

The brake pedal travel on our 2007 Mark LT has too much travel and is too soft. The dealer said nothing was wrong with it. As you can see the truck has other brake problems as posted in our recent message in this forum.

I purchased a 2006 Mark LT with only 13,000 miles on it(someone had just traded it in). Within about two weeks after purchase the brakes seemed bad. Drove to Utah and Vegas with the truck and on the downhills as I attempted to slow down the dam truck started to pull and shake really bad. I took it back to the Lincoln/Ford dealership I bought it from, they were going to charge me over a grand to fix them and whatever else was wrong. I didn't have to pay after all. Prior to my trip I received a letter from Lincoln about a safety recall with the brake system. Anywho, overall I am not completely satisfied with this truck. I guess the owner before me wasn't either.

Just wanted to share: I bought a 2006 Mark LT brand new in 4/06. Within the first year, through no fault of my own (that I'm aware of), the brake rotors warped - causing the vehicle to shimmy, vibrate, "hop" and surge & release while braking. It is particularly pronounced and violent at highway speed. Anyone else have/had this problem?

I bought a 2006 Mark LT used with 24,000 mi. in May of 2009. I bought in Texas and on my way back home to Indiana, I noticed a brake shudder and found it coming from the rear rotors, which I replaced with 2 new Motorcraft roters. brake shudder fixed.
1 Year later, now 35,000 mi. I noticed another brake shudder starting, this time from the front. I priced new Motorcraft parts rotors & pads - $210.00

I found a place online- Brake Performance.com That offered grooved & dimpled rotors ( cadium plated in black or silver-- made in USA with lifetime warranty against warping ) (2) for $215.00 w/a free set of pads, or a disciunt on prem pads
with free shipping and no tax. My total was $ 249.54 w/prem pads.

I will put them on this week and give a review of them.

Do you need special brake rotors for the front? I called the local brake shop and they were quoting me 285$ per rotor for the front brakes. They said that my particular mark lt was like the f-150 and it required more than just a rotor but also something extra. I have a 2006 mark lt with 2wd. I've shopped on e-bay to compare prices and I see a wide variety of brake pads and rotors. Not sure which way to go. Any advice or suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.
