Dumb question, but I was quoted a MF of .00452 today... I couldn't believe it. I was under the impression that Ford was captive only. Am I missing something here or were they just out in right field for that?

I should add this MF came from a dealer outside my zip code which is 19067... in Baltimore actually. When I pressed the sales manager over it and mentioned I the MF I got here, he just sort of brushed it off and said, I don't know what Edmunds does over there. Their residual was different too, but only off by 1% (64 to the 65 I received here) but chalked that up to maybe a regional difference. Any thoughts?

ETA, looking through the 2020 forum it seems that the MF changes quite a bit more than I thought, so I guess it's possible the Baltimore (21244) area has horrendous deals at the moment. If that is the case, a little more than 100 miles makes a world of difference. Either way, I thought similar to tax rate, MF was based on the buyer's location as opposed to dealer.

Residuals are fixed, and cannot change

There could be any number of reasons your quote was off. Regional differences, dealer markup, communication issues.

Yep, this is the same boat I am in. Got numbers on an XLT with the black appearance package and they are almost the same as a practically fully loaded TRD Sport. I wanted the Tacoma, then looked at the Ranger... bad move. I was so close to getting the Tacoma last Saturday but I can't even look at the Taco anymore. I've lost all desire for one. Drove one tonight, worked numbers with the salesman and manager and just straight up said I prefer the Ranger, even if it is $5k less truck. Still a hard pill to swallow.

24 months aren't going to get you any better payment.
