Ford Explorer Buying Used
I found a 2002 Explorer XLT with V8 and it has 106k miles. The current owner tells me that he replaced the transmission last year and he is also offering a $500 major mechanical 6 mo warranty (car must be serviced at the garage he usually takes his vehicles for service). I really just need the car for local driving. Should I worry about the miles on the car?? I don't know what to do. It looks like a nicely kept vehicle. I ran a Carfax and nothing showed up of concern. I'm confused!! Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks.

Any major problems with any of these??
Ive had Range-Rover, Land-Rover, Navigator but the Explorer Ive got top them all. Not maybe for luxury but for trustworthyness etc, treated right ( oil change twice a year ) it will start and go.
Its a no nonsense SUV the way they should be.
Take a look at the Lexus or X5 etc, plastic and more plastic and fragile.
