Why am I getting paint blisters on the hood of 2018 Ford Explorer?

Where the hood meets the grill, I am seeing paint blisters or bubbling. I was told that the primer used in manufacturing did not take well to the aluminum hoods

Ford has had problems with the paint on aluminum hoods for over a decade. My 2015 Mustang had to be repainted twice. For some reason the metal isn’t properly prepared at the factory and corrosion starts on the edge. The Ford warranty only covers rust through and aluminum doesn’t corrode like that so you’re out of luck. I got mine repainted once under warranty and once out of good will. You might see if your dealer will cut you some slack and paint it free. Ruby red metallic is the color that has the most trouble.
