I was recently contacted by the dealership that I bought my 2019 Subaru Forester from to trade in for a newer model because they needed more pre-owned stock. Was hoping someone could give advice as to if the money is right on this deal? It would lower my current monthly payment. Just wanted to see what others thought. I've attached the deal sheet as an image. Thanks.

First.. forget what a dealerships says about needing your car. That is just a marketing spiel.

Paying $13,000 to move up two model years? That means you paid $500/mo. to drive your current vehicle. Low miles and warranty left. Why do you want to trade?

Well my thinking is that it's a 2 year newer and 0 mileage car. I still owe $6211 on my current vehicle. So I'm going to end up paying that anyway. So really in my mind it's roughly an additional $7k for that upgrade. Maybe I'm thinking of that incorrectly.

Oh, missed that part.. Yeah, $7700 to upgrade.

That wouldn't be worth it to me.. Especially only having a 24K mile car. I would ride that out for awhile.

My Subaru dealer emails me constantly about our 2015 Outback. No way am I trading in a paid off car with only 42,000 miles on it for a similar car and start over with a new set of payments.
