valve rattle

My MPV has 232,000 miles, burns no oil between changes, has never had the engine opened, still gets 25 mpg on highway, transmission overhauled at 80K. Problem is upon acceleration I hear rattling noises for a second or so coming from the top of the engine, no lights coming on, fresh oil. Is it time to start adding STP?
