Wow thank you so much!!! What would you suggest doing with this negative equity? I asked another dealership to appraise it for a trade-in, and it seemed like they built that negative equity into the lease price somehow, plus they had me paying it off upfront. It didn’t make much sense to me so I’m trying not to make the same mistake again. That was when I was pricing out the TLX.

First, get quotes from CarMax, Vroom and Carvana - they may be willing to give you more on your trade than the dealer.

If, after doing that, you still have negative equity, then I'd sit tight and not trade out of it. The current market is pretty bad for buyers, and waiting 4-6-8 months may make things better.
