I’m guessing in the $200k+ range?

With that discount from the $200K @oldfarmer50 price I don’t know how you could turn that down.

Gee.....nothing above MSRP? How generous. This is going to be a marketing bonanza for car makers in the near term. That said, 3-4 months from now, it's going to be very bleak for both buyers and sellers.
No, they didn't say anything about prices not being above MSRP. They just stated they wouldn't increase the MSRP. Dealers can charge whatever they want.

Hyundai may have a big backlog of cars already built. I’m told our company has a thousand new ones coming in currently. If that’s just for our region it’s massive. I do know we have been pulling cars out of service like mad lately to the point where we have no more room to park them. Some have been the high mile units (50k) but a lot of them have under 20k on them. The company is not stupid when it comes to making money so something big may be happening.

Not sure if it is still there (Tom would know) but in philly below one of the bridges Hyundai/kia had a large staging lot. You got a great view of it from the bridge. Sometimes it was stuffed with units. Must have been thousands stacked up.

a 22 YO Escape doesn't do anything for me. And definitely is not something I would want to tow with.

Just a shame for both of us that the market has driven the prices so high. 5 years ago those would have been half the price. I guess now we’re competing with Joe six pack who can’t afford a newer vehicle.

My brother is still beating the heck out of the 3.0 Escape I sold him … I think 5 years ago? It has over 160k on it now. And he does NOT take care of his vehicles.

I don’t think I’m that scattered. I’m on $10k’ish SUVs. Except for that one sidestep towards a Panamera.

I did fail to check the towing capacity of the tribute. I had assumed it would be enough. Turns out it is only 3500 lb. Sigh.

Xterra is my go-to but buying one has been challenging. I’m kind of coming to terms with the reality that I may actually have to buy in person for the first time in a very long time.

Just saw that, I wonder if it will sell. FWIW E53 wagon was offered in Canada before the brand decided to limit NA market wagons to All-Terrain models (which maybe caused complaints, and here we are a few years later). I suspect MSRP around 100K will be the norm.

A friend in the local BMW CCA chapter had a tiny amber side marker light malfunction in the the headlight assembly. The entire assembly has to be replaced (of course) and because it's a Laserlight the cost was almost $10,000.
The C43 has what M-B calls the LED Intelligent Light System. Sadly, the technology is dumbed-down to meet archaic U.S. regulations (I'm going to recode back them to European standards). That said, to my 68 year old eyes the LEDs are as good or better than the BMW Laserlights- and they cost 80% less. And now BMW has dropped Laserlights in favor of LEDs. I wonder why...

The TV still works great. I had to put the soundbar behind the it and it doesn't sound as good as before.

I am at year 6 with my wagon now and it continues to be sublime high quality experience. The last major service was indeed major, but I guess you gotta pay to play (and hope this will be the biggie for several years).
My advisor suggested changing out all the drivetrain fluids at the next Service B in 12 months, so I'm good with that. I only wish Mercedes had a Rewards MasterCard like BMW offers.

Final thoughts on the GLC 300 loaner:
It is really nice. The X3 interior without the M Sport trim always felt a little cheap to me- and the newly uglified 2025 is much worse (and the M Sport package doesn't help). If I wanted a more luxury oriented CUV the GLC 300 would be my pick.
I thought the steering wheel touchpads would be annoying but I adapted to them quickly.
The Burmester audio sounded very good.
For a non-sporting CUV a 0-60 in the mid fives makes the GLC 300 a bit of an overachiever.
The ride is exemplary and handling is responsive and well controlled.
The "Hey Mercedes" system is a riot- and it actually works extremely well.
I definitely won't test drive a GLC63 SE Performance; I'd almost certainly find the low three second 0-60, eleven second quarter with Race Start irresistible.
That said, I'd still have some concerns about long term reliability, what with the 2.0 liter four making 469 hp with another 201 hp coming from the rear mounted electric motor- which itself is mated to a two speed transmission at the rear differential.

When we finished the lower level (2009), we shopped for entertainment centers like that. Frustrating. Eventually, we decided to have our contractor do a built-in. Not any cheaper, but where we put it, we'd never need to move it.
