2020 Escape Titanium vs 2019 CX-5 GT – 4 year ownership

Hey everyone,

I’m deciding between a 2020 Ford Escape Titanium (57k miles) and a 2019 Mazda CX-5 GT (80k miles). Both AWD, similar price.

I live in a snowy area and remote start on the Escape is honestly very appealing. I also prefer how the Escape drives — smoother and more comfortable in traffic.

However, I’ve heard mixed things about long-term costs (especially with Ford transmissions), while Mazda’s reputation tends to lean toward “reliable and simple”.

Planning to keep it about 4 years. Which would you choose and why?

Appreciate any insight.

Also i have another option, an older CX-5 GT (about 6 months older, similar miles, ~$1.5k cheaper)
