Chevrolet Avalanche Navigation Systems

I am looking at new the 08 avalanche. The factory installed GPS can not be used when you are driving. Is there a way to overide this setting?

The 07 is the same. It is a safety feature. They don't want you keying in addresses while you're driving obviously. Don't know if it can be disabled but you can get directions on the fly to addresses that are already saved in your address book if that helps. Otherwise, you just gotta pull over and put it in park to key in your destination.
