Magnaflow Exhaust
I picked up a 2007 4Runner Sport Edition a few days ago.
I has a Magnaflow EX exhaust system installed. I don't know the part number - but it says Performance EX on the muffler that I can read when looking under the vehicle.
I like the low throaty sound, but my wife thinks its too loud inside the cab. You really don't hear it at all when cruising on the highway. But when accelerating, especially climbing hills which are numerous around us, it gets louder than desirable in the cab.
I understand it improves MPG, horsepower, torque - so I'd like to keep it installed.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to eliminate or reduce the interior noise? Will these changes reduce the perofrmance benefits of the currently installed system?
Do I just need to switch back to the stock exhaust? If so any idea what that would cost?
Thanks...
