The 2009 Outlander has been launched in Japan. Note the signal mirrors and the 7-spoke wheels.

It might get SST, but nothing confirmed. Currently planned for EU Outlanders only.
I don't know where you're getting the idea that it is a 2009 model. I don't even see from the pictures you're posting that it's a 2009 model.
Please take note that are hundreds of Diesel in Europe and even the Chinese have 4x4 Diesel that are sold in Europe but that doesn't means that they can make their way into the USA market. Diesel engine from Mercedes cannot be sold in California and other states, BMW cheat the regulations by incorporating an extra container with “Urea” that manages to comply with the USA regulations. Volkswagen cannot pass the regulation with the Tiguan 2.0 Liter Diesel but so far there is nothing concrete although the Diesel are sold in Europe since January this year. The first Diesel 2.0 Liter (Wagon) is announced for the fall, and so on.
My personal opinion Diesel will no be available in a degree like the petrol engine until 2012.
Well, do you have links to back up your claim? Or is it just another baseless opinion?

New Performance Diesel Model Under Development
In 2010, the Lancer line will gain a powerful turbo-diesel model. Mitsubishi last sold a diesel-powered pickup truck in the U.S. market in 1985. The next-generation Mitsubishi turbo-diesel announced at the NAIAS for the U.S. will be based on the engine that MMC is developing together with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for European export models. The new engine incorporates a DPF + NOx trap catalyst system to ensure compliance with U.S. Tier II Bin 5 emissions regulations that require NOx (nitrogen oxides) emissions to be as low as those from gasoline engines.
To quote you:
I doubt it. Only very few brands (e.g. Volkswagen, Mercedes, BMW, Audi) have managed to pass the emission regulations for Diesel engines in the USA. Mitsubishi will need at least 5-years to produce a low toxic gas emission.
My personal opinion Diesel will no be available in a degree like the petrol engine until 2012.
You and I were not even talking about a diesel Outlander but Diesel engine in general.
Then you come back saying you said something about a diesel Outlander by 2012. You were talking about diesel engine in general. :surprise: Read your posts dude and also read mine, and understand it.
Now we're all confused, so let's just move on shall we?
We could retire this one and start over when the next model year rolls around....
Perhaps the 2009 model has more user-friendly mechanism to collapse the third row of seats, or the second row collapsing flat into the car floor, who knows. But because a member passionately defends that there is not a 2009 model (already announced in Japan) and immediately encouraged the moderator to delete the photos of the 2009 Outlander model in this column because this member said that the photos are model 2007 and period. I find this action scaring in addition that the moderator is taken side without explaining why this is done.
But that's why I asked....
Where is the link to that "announcement"? Once and for all, post a link where a 2009 Outlander was announced. As I've said, the pictures you have posted is THE SAME vehicle announced and debuted in Japan as a 2007 Outlander V6 way back in October 2007. In fact It has been the same pictures posted there since that time. Now if you have links that will show that a 2009 Outlander is already announced, be it Japan or elsewhere in the world, you are free to post it here.

Nothing but lies. :surprise: Show me a quote where "somebody" asked the moderator to delete the photos. :confuse:
And here is further proof that the vehicle you posted is a 2007 V6 Outlander announced and marketed in Japan since October 2007: http://www.mitsubishiforum.com/m_181241/tm.htm and also here: http://outlander.freeforums.org/mitsubishi-unveils-new-3-0l-v6-outlanders-for-ja- pan-t89.html
Look at the dates of posting in those threads.
Now your turn... let's see some links.
Just to make 2 points:
One, “encourage” is not the same as “ask”. Second, please see again the picture copied from Mitsubishi web page (deleted). I have circled some aspect of the picture for you to analyze and make an intelligent inference. The Oxford dictionary defines the word “DEBUT” as the first public appearance of something. To reinforce this fact in the top right side is scribbled the term 2009 and in the left bottom is the word “What is new”.
And again, just because you saw "2009", it doesn't mean it's the 2009 Outlander. Here is a screencap of the link if you click the "2009" in your picture:
Now, it doesn't say anything about a 2009 Outlander, does it? It's the link to the 2009 Recruiting Information page!
