The program converts a web site or text to one of several dialects (this one is jive).
Try it on the Daimler Chrysler web site!
Interesting how 3 different people see the taupe interior of a std M 3 different ways. We all saw a somewhat different color. I wonder if the cars paint color has something to do with it?
I'm thinking of maybe at the Vegas International Raceway, but I haven't looked into it.
Lately now, even after being creamed from behind pretty hard in an accident, the main rattle we've had for over a year is right behind the gauge cluster. This is extremely annoying and to date, I think the car has been in for this at least 7 or 8 times (along with many other problems). This one is ALL the time, regardless if the road is smooth as glass or a buckboard. From what I've seen, I don't think the dealer has ever gotten close to fixing it, they just say "Oh, we tightened a few screws", in other words they forgot about it and touched nothing.
As for other rattles, where do I begin? I think when the same rattle appeared, there was also a banging noise in the dash that sounded right down inside the center when you'd drive over a really nasty street or something. Then, the back door panels were loose at the rear edges and would vibrate and rattle over bumps. Then, there was a slight rattle in the headliner near the sunroof that came and went pretty quick. Also, if you drive down certain gravel driveways, the front door panels also vibrate, creak, and rattle pretty badly. In addition, once or twice before, when driving on a few roads where the pavement was ground off, and there was some loud buzzing that reverberated badly across the roof and the back window creaked. Oh yeah, and when we first got the car back from being rebuilt, there was a slight buzzy noise on each side of the dash near where you mentioned, where the a-pillar and black dash piece meet.
Okay, wow, I think I might be done. But then again, we also get some other weird noises that come and go from day to day. Just to note, none of these have ever been fixed, with the exception of the back door panels that the dealer did a TSB# I gave them that told how to tighten the panels up. Also, one thing that I've noticed is that the plastic used for the 300M's interior is naturally creaky. If you notice, they tried to make it not look hard and cheap by using softer materials, but the problem is, the softer stuff flexes more, thus making more creaks and rattling.
See what I told you, ask about rattles in a 300M and we can write you a novel!
So, sticking mainly to under-$200, what do you recommend?
My favorite car of all was the 300G convertible. Green with a tan top, it looks like it would be at home on a showroom floor. Just beautiful. There were about a half dozen other 300's of various ages.
The economy seems to be keeping the prices down. I saw a 1984 turbo Bentley go for $18k, a 1959 Chrysler Imperial went for $13,500 and a nice Mercedes went for $17,500.

1) Travelling time 3000 miles divided by 40 miles per hour equals = 75 hours of driving and if you add in 12 hours of sleep per night plus two, three hour nappies per day I guess it would take me around six days to get there.
2) Four right turn signal light bulbs as mine are always left on and burn out frequently.
3) Two dozen "Depends" ( I like to change at least three times per day.)
3) One gallon of Pepto-Bismol.
4) Spare set of dentures.
5) One gallon of dark brown hair dye.(Or if they have an Inferno Red dye I could try that.)
6) Cell phone so my wife could call me daily to remind me where I'm heading too.
7) Daily notes to remind me that I don't need to turn on the seat heaters when it's 80 degrees in
Arizona.
8) Put my Frank Sinarta CD's in the trunk when I get there and pop in all my Pat Boone CD's
into the changer so you guys would know I'm up to-date with the latest tunes.
9) Try to convince you guys in the U.S that when I'm drooling that this is actually how we
Canadians sweat.
1. Most M'ers average around 90 (not counting stops for tickets).
2. I am glad I am not you. (I would have to replace six bulbs (I rewired my tail lights)).
3. Better double it (you can get veeerrry relaxed in this car).
3. Looks too much like car polish.
4. Don't forget the teflon spacers so you don't grind you teeth while behind slow drivers.
5. Looks too much like motor oil.
6. Get Caller ID for it. (no distracting calls while at the meet)
7. Leave the warmers on it only 60's here.
8. Pat Boone, boy you are hip! I am still with the Beach Boys and Tommy Dorcy.
9. Just tell them it the cars, and stay close.
Thanks.
Thanks for the feedback. I need to find out what year they started putting in the new 3.5L engine. I think it may be '01, but I hope it was the 2k. The mid-size SUV is what we want.

They said that the noise was reduced when they put the stock air filter back in instead of my KN, but it that it did not solve the problem.
I told them that the noise was actually there prior to the filter change and that I knew that that was not a factor in the problem.
He went on to explain that the problem was a known issue with the throttle plate, and that STARTECH? was working on a fix.
Anybody ever hear this?
Also, any suggestions as for speakers would be appreciated.
bigjohnson300m has posted information on new K&N part number 63-1029 Off Road Kit for 300M. He got one from www.summitracing.com for $205.00. Great300M says that they are now selling it for $225.00. I've found that they are presently out of stock. Would also need to get a crankcase airfilter, and this is not really street legal. However does anyone else have experience with this yet. I love what Scotian and 300Michael have done but for us that are "not as adapt" this might be a quick solution to getting a cold air intake.
I enjoyed the stay. The Fremont St. Experience at night is fun and there are regular stores (Baskin-Robbins, Pizz Hut, etc.) as well as 99cent shrimp cocktail at the Golden Gate (as well as they give away decks of cards). A little less crowded, a little more "Old Vegas" and cheaper! TO hit the Strip, I grabbed one of the city busses or private trolleys. I'll probably stay downtown again...
Enjoy the meet. I'm jealous. Luckily, I have the CT casinos to take my money...!

Yes, I know it's old, but they have some very nice rooms, and some very good rates.
The location is great, mid-strip, right across from Caesars. They also have a magnificant auto collection, loaded with million-dollar cars.
Don't miss the fountain show at the Bellagio! A different show every 15 minutes.
I agree with laurasdada about "downtown". Fremont street is well worth a visit.
My favorite place to stay is still the Luxor. It's the only hotel where the rooms are not just another box.
Another good value is the Stratosphere. At the far north end of the strip, but beautiful rooms, in the new wing, and very good rates.
Wish I could join you!
I agree with you about the Luxor. It's my second favorite place to stay and always seems to be affordable if you find the right deal. Personally I prefer a high-level room in the pyramid, but a friend recently stayed there and tells me that the towers are nicer. My wife and I got a hot-tub room way up high once...very very nice. What I truly like about the Luxor is that the casino isn't as crowded or as smokey as others, the rooms are very well insulated for sound, and they have a very good buffet that you don't have to wait 2 hours to get into. My favorite hotel is the Venetian, but I can't afford to stay there anymore at over $250 per night. I stayed there when it just opened for about $150, and BOY were the rooms nice. My third favorite is the Monte Carlo. Subdued and not as flashy as others, but beautiful throughout.
I'd have to say that my least favorite is Paris. Crowded with low ceilings that made it worse. Granted I was there when it just opened, but what a mess. The Excalibur is also showing its age.
I, too, think the Luxor had a great buffet! Definately check out the Imperial Palace auto collection. When I was there, all (most, at least) of the cars were for sale! I had hoped to win enough to buy a '67 Mercedes. Came up just a bit short...
I do plan on retiring to Vegas. Unfortunately, my wife is ensuring that I can't retire until I'm about 88!
My '99 Platinum 300M turned 32,000 miles today. 4,000 miles of warranty left. No worries. Great car.

My girlfriend, Faraz, is a U.S.-born Iranian with a very strict Iranian father, still lives at home, etc., so she ends up there every night, which gives me time to spend on the other love of my life...
The door sail speakers are accesible by removing the Philips screws. After that you need to get a little creative to get your new tweeters mounted. I've changed mine to the Rockford-Fosgate Fanatic "Q" component setup. If you are going to do this, however, I would mount the x-overs in the trunk near the amp and if you use the stock amp, just connect the proper wires into and out of the x-overs. The wiring pinout is a couple dozen messages earlier on this board by Scotian. I'm going to eventually replace the Infinity amp with a 4-channel Rockford-Fosgate 600.4. It's not difficult once you know what wires go where. If I were really ambitious, I would replace all the speaker wiring as it's only 18 gauge, but for now I'm happy. Good Luck!
Hmm, I feel the need for a night ride . . .
