Question...I am leasing an ML 350 and the inception fees are approx. $2,100 AND Mercedez requires a vehicle turn-in fee of $595. Can one get the inception fees down AND more importantly, does anyone have experience in having the $595 turn in fee waived when contracting for the car? Please advise.
    Thanks-
  • jwilliams2jwilliams2 Member Posts: 910
You should be able to roll the inception fees into the lease. This of course will increase the monthly payments and also depends on your credit score.

The $595 disposition fee is sometimes waived during special "Loyalty Acceleration" promotions MB occasionally runs at lease end, but is dependant upon you leasing another MB. But there is no way to get MB to waive it up front.

    Hope this helps.

I don't want to put the fees into the lease b/c I'm trying to keep my payments low. The dealer has the car I want w/ 4,600 miles on it (it's a loaner) and total monthly payment (taxes included) is $532/month. I have the same car now and pay $615/month (granted it was new when I got it but that was 3 years ago). My other option is to go w/ a new vehicle at $565/month. I keep coming back to the loaner car that has the lower payment--a bit hesitant but I'm going to see it tomorrow.

MB is not making me pay the $595 if I get another one. However, I didn't know if I had any leverage on that. If you have thoughts on the loaner vs. the new car, I'd appreciate your insight. Thanks-

One other question....are dealers willing to drop off any of the inception fees--Just trying to see if I have anything else to try and negotiate down.
  • jwilliams2jwilliams2 Member Posts: 910
What are they capping the new car and the demo at? For $33 a month, I might be tempted by the new one, as you can make your choice of color, etc. Doesn't sound like they are giving you much off for the demo, but maybe you can push them somewhat.

Your inception fees should be first months payment, acquisition fee (I believe $795), license and registration, and sales tax. None of these can be "dropped off". They may also charge a conveyance, or doc fee, which is strictly a dealer charge, and is dependant on your area. I don't believe MB charges a security deposit.

Just make sure they explain exactly what is in the inception fees, as you don't want to pay anything extra. Hope this helps.

What dealership is this? Can you post/send me the contact info?
  • elenaschwartz1elenaschwartz1 Member Posts: 14
I don't know what state you are in and if it differs state to state or what. Is the car you are turning in eligible for "pull forward"? If so, I don't believe you have to pay the 595 or anything other than whatever you get a new lease for. I sent my neighbor over and he got pretty aggressive numbers b/c MB giving alot of support to ML's this month. Not sure if it will continue to May.
  • elenaschwartz1elenaschwartz1 Member Posts: 14
UPDATE: Checked w/ my local rep and he said that you absolutely do not pay the 595 dispo. fee if you lease another MB. Do not accept it

    just negotiated a ml350 with p1, 4matic, rear entertainment package (msrp 55k, invoice 51k) for $47,500.

lease is $670/month (including tax), $3,000 down 36 months/12k miles per year.
  • awmbawmb Member Posts: 1
Is this a good deal? ML320 bluetec, P1 package at $500 over invoice and 1.9 % financing.
    Thanks
  • mistybbmistybb Member Posts: 3
Considering buying the above - it is certified by the dealer. Would you buy a demo - yes or no?

What would you pay for 2008 certified demo with nav and a few other smaller options?
  • svenelvissvenelvis Member Posts: 1
I also would like to hear anyone's recent experience negotiating a bluetec. Should I expect do do better or worse in comparison to the discounts people have received lately on the ML350?

    Thanks

I just got the following offer for ML 350 - 48mo/12K mi/yr premium 1, heated seats, Running boards. Edmund's says invoice = $49,532
    MSRP $53,195
    Cap cost $47,983
    Bank fee $895
    Residual 39% 20,746
    MF .00067
    tax 8.62% $2857

    1st pmt + fees = $945 monthly pmt= $692
Salesman said can go a few hundred lower on cap cost, which would lower payment to about $675..

I'm also looking at a Lexus GX. That deal is posted on the Lexus forum.

Can I do better than $675/mo on the ML350 ?

Here is another data point for you guys. Thanks for the other postings as it helped a lot.

ML 350 2 wheel drive with MB tex interior
Options: metalic paint, lighting package, appearance package, trailer hitch, rear seat entertainment pre-wiring, heated front seats, premium 1 package.
    MSRP: $53,345
    Purchase price $47,608

I think I got a good deal, but you always feel like you leave money on the table with these guys. Edmunds TMV was $49,029.

I bought the car with 0.9% financing for 66 months.

    What do you guys think?

Looking at a 2008 base model ML 320 cdi with 19,000 miles .The price is around $39,000 before TTL. Does that sound reasonable ? It's being sold by the dealership so I could purchase another yr of warranty for another $1000 - what do you think ? :)
  • tampa04tampa04 Member Posts: 3
It sounds like a great deal. I am looking at a 2006 ML 350 with 15K miles on this car. I am offerring 25k out of the door. I am not sure if they will take it.

    Take it.
  • habsonehabsone Member Posts: 47
Are you sure it has only 15k miles? The car is at least 4 years old.One more comment people are getting 10k to 12k (may be more)discount on New 2009 m class right now.
  • ml350nyml350ny Member Posts: 1
I was expecting to get about 10k off a new 2009 ml350 4wd last weekend, but the best I could do so far was 1k off invoice, which brings it down to about 49k. I only went to 2 dealers though, and I'm in NY - not sure if it makes a difference. They still have many to chose from - any idea how to get that 10 to 12k discount?
  • kiiwiikiiwii Member Posts: 318
edmunds.com shows a $6k incentive available. Adding the difference between invoice and MSRP, guess it shouildn't be difficult to get $10k below MSRP.

It’s Mercedz Benz signaling a new trend of big discounts in the auto industry ?
  • kenny189kenny189 Member Posts: 3
Mercedez Benz $6000 discount for the 2009 model is signaling big Discountg on the 2009 MDX. What do you guys think?
  • kiiwiikiiwii Member Posts: 318
Agree. Acura probably won't post the huge discount 'til later Sept or Oct. Other than the price, MDX should be much easier to maintain. The long term cost should be much lower than ML.

I got 14k below MSRP on an 09 ML320 Bluetec. Im in California. They even drove it to my house from over 3 hours away at no charge.

Hey, chuckblue, the rules here allow you to share a dealership name. Can you do that for us?
  • trippctrippc Member Posts: 27
Was in in the Lakeview Dealer in Rockville Centre, NY and nosing around for an 09 but was SOL. They offered me a 2010 in steel grey with the usual. P1, wood/leather multi steer wheel, alum run boards, pre wiring rear ent, heat front seats which was 55,885 MSRP (the aforementioned are all optional add-ons). he offered me 50,500. I'm sure they can do better especially with other brands marketing their 10' collection. Wish you the best of luck..

Thanks for useful info on this forum.. just wanted to share my deal as another pointer for you.. Not sure this is a good deal.. But car is great.. our first luxury car! we love it :)

    ML350 350W4 Silver/Black 4 wheel Drive - $48,200/$44,826
    - Metallic Paint - $720/$670
    P02 Premium 2 Package - $5,950/$5,534
    220   PARKTRONIC info- $790/$735
    846 Brushed Aluminum Running Boards w/Rubber Studs - $660/$614
    550 Trailer Hitch - $540/$502
    873 Heated Front Seats - $740/$688

I have also taken additional pre-paid 40k/4YR Maintenance plan for $1589
  • vchadvchad Member Posts: 97
Hi, but 46k is a TERRIBLE deal. if its an 09, with 22k miles on it. you should be in the mid 30's. here's my logic.

The 09 models, just a few months ago, had a 6krebate and 8k rebate on bluetecs. so one could have bought an ML with around 12k off msrp quite easily. So a 52k - 12k = 40k. Now factor into it, a WHOPPING 22k miles. MB charges 25cents? a mile..so at 22k you should get another 5k off i think at the LEAST.

I would pay 33-34k at most. You can get a new 10model for 10k off, why go for such high mileage?
  • llhh0223llhh0223 Member Posts: 6
    -vchad,
Thanks for the reply. I know that is an awful deal and I called it off!

I was able to locate a another ML 350 in one of our local dealer, but it is a certified 06 model with 55000 mi on it. The warranty ends 08/11 or 100k miles. It is basically fully loaded, including nav, upgrade audio, suede seats, running board, 19' wheels and many more, and it is extremly clean and in mint condition. The dealer asked for $26,000 + ttl. Any thoughts on the deal and what price should I expect?
    Thanks!
  • vchadvchad Member Posts: 97
I would pay only 20.5 to 21k for that car.

My logic is if it was a 3yr old lease return, it should of had 30-36k miles on it, and it was probably returned(1yr ago, possibly 2). Those cars had a buyout of around 27-28k. With the extra 25k miles, at .25 a mile, thats around 7.5k discount, plus the age of the vehicle. Plus add on around 1.5k for the warranty cost and maintenance they did to CPO the car.

Offer 20.5, they'll probably laugh, tell you its below cost, need to keep the lights on, offer 21k final offer. If they say no, go home. 9 out of 10times, they'll call you back. show them your ready to take the car home that night at 21k at most, if they try to bully you or pull all sortas stupid dealer stunts, simply get up, shake there hand, go home!

Thank you all, and carman, for all the great information on these forums.

    I've just leased a 2010 ML350 Nov. 17. Details are:

    ML350 350W4 Palladium/Black 4 wheel Drive - MSRP $57, 125

Metallic Paint ,Premium 1 Package, Lighting Package, Appearance Package, Trailer Hitch, Heated Front Seats, Pre-Wiring for Rear Seat Entertainment.

First offer from dealer was 10% off sticker and the additional $2,000 lease cash from MB. After a couple of days negotiation final deal was at 12% off sticker, plus the MB $2,00 lease cash.

So, final deal was at a selling price (inital cap cost) $48,270, no money down/no cap reduction.

Dealer marked up money factor from MBs 0.00035 to 0.00055, and marked up acquisition fee up from $735 to $1,095.

Total dealer fees (acquisition $1,095 + dealer handling $399) $1,494 added to the lease for a final cap cost of $ 49,764.

    12K miles /year, 36 months

Lease payment $600.90 before local taxes (mine are $40.26 for a total of $641.16/month)

Paid $653 at delivery (641.16 first payment, plus $12.2 doc fee).

Absolutely great experience overall from negotiation to my 2008 E350 W4 lease return and delivery.

Tried negotiating with TWO different dealers on an ML 350. I currently lease an ML350 so I'm a "loyal" customer!
Went for a 2010 2WD with P1 package. With the 2K MB incentive, all I got was 2K UNDER invoice. The money factor was NOT what was posted here, The first offer was $879 per month!!! With 3K drive off. 50% residual, 36month lease at 12K miles per year, After almost throwing up, it got lowered to $769 (inc tax) once I removed the P1 package. Still 3K drive off.
Once I got up to leave, it magically reduced itself to $679... but still the 3K drive off.
What the hell am I doing wrong here? I'm sharing all the info I gather on these forums, and they don't match the money factor nor do they go anywhere near 6-10K BELOW invoice.
    HELP! I'm in Northern California.

2nd deal I tried was with leaseoutlet.com in Southern Cal...
    2010 ML 4WD P1 package
    4K below invoice (46300)
644.74 plus tax=697.93 total monthly payment
2261 drive off, which he lowered to 1200 after I told him no way.

    HELP!!!!

Thank you for all of the good post here! I have been shopping for a 2010 ML350 AWD deal with different dealers in WA for a few weeks. Here the best I can get from one of the dealers. I am thinking to check with the other closest State MB dealers if they can offer a better deal for me or not. Any feedback will be appreciated.

    ML350 350W4 ObsidianBlack/Black 4MATIC - $48,200/$44,826
    - Metallic Paint - $720/$670
    P01 Premium 1 Package - $3,950/$3,674
    322 ML350 Appearance Package - $970/$902
    319 Lighting Package - $970/$902
    220 PARKTRONIC info- $790/$735
    550 Trailer Hitch - $540/$502
    873 Heated Front Seats - $740/$688

It is red with tan interior and is certfied. Dealer is asking 48,991. I am trying to see how low I can go with my initial offer.
