Honda Lease Extra Mileage by hondaman2010 Jun 30, 2010 (2:12 pm)
I was told when I leased my new 2010 Honda Accord that I would NOT be charged for additional ...

Are you for real? This is your post from 12 months ago that you leased a 2010 accord......

Hi, does any one can tell me how much is the low price for Honda civic 2011 DX-VP, dealership gave me $16,339. Is this reasonable price? I am in DC.
  • seaurchinseaurchin Member Posts: 57
Bro, this is really a silly question. You got to go yourself and seat and test drive both. I sat inside a 2012 Civic i had to run away from it and seat in an Acura just to come back to senses.

I read so many reviews about it and 2012 is a much better car than 2011, and 2011 was a great car to begin with. 2012 is faster, more efficient and has more space, great car…………………but the interior was hideous in my opinion. Go to a dealership an test drive both, it’s not like you have to buy them.

I purchased a 2012 Honda Civic LX Automatic Transmission for $18200 from Ciocca Honda, Harrisburg, PA

In addition I had to pay

    1. 6% PA Tax + Title Fees
    2. $159 Documentation Fees {charged by the dealer}.

Sales experience was very good, I used 0.9% APR Honda Financing, Did NOT buy any accessories or extended warranties. The initial Internet Price Quote was $18400.

Just got an offer for a Honda LX 2012 for 18,950. Didn't ask about OTD fees. what should I expect and for add on fees?
  • tarunkalra1tarunkalra1 Member Posts: 10
Your price for 2012 Honda Civic LX should be $18200 or lower. Given there is now a manufacturer rebate to dealer from Honda for $500. (Your range should be $17900 - $18000)

Regarding add on fees, you should plan for Sales Tax + Title/Registration fees for your state + document fees ($150).

Also take a look at Honda 0.9 - 1.9% APR financing - A Great Value

    It's about the current market.

With supplies so low dealers can charge what they want.

If you can wait 3-4 months supplies should be better, and thus prices a little lower.

But if you can't wait, go for it. The civic is a great car. It's the size of the Accord from 25 years ago, and so really it's a mid size car at this point, if that makes you feel better about the price.

Sunitj - Yours is the second recent post with a Doc Fee of $499. That seems high to me. I recently purchased a new Honda Pilot (in Texas) and the Doc Fee was $189. The Doc Fee on our Civic purchase a couple of years ago was similar. Maybe for some reason that fee is lower in Texas...

I'd also suggest trying to get them to throw in the window tint and/or other dealer add-ons. If nothing else, it might make you feel a little better about the price. Just a thought...

Are there any alternatives to leather seats/cover that would help with keeping my dog hair off the seats. If there's one for Honda, Civic-2012, I can go with it and save some monay on that front.
  • civictorycivictory Member Posts: 73
I know Honda sells seat covers for the Pilot, but I'm not aware of any for the Civic. There are aftermarket covers available, but I would be wary of fit. It might be worth looking into, though.

I dunno if Sunitj resides in a southeastern state but down here the doc fees are ridiculous, and you really can't get a break because ALL the dealerships around here charge about the same amount. I live in NC, $499 is average. I am from NJ, where the doc fee ranges from $75 to $199. It sucks.

I signed a deal with my local dealer to trade in my 2009 HCH with 31,xxx miles to get a 2012Honda Civic LX with wheel lock, mud guard and etc. I'll need to pay $1,500 plus the TTL.

I purchased a 2012 LX during the July 4th 0.9 APR deal and requested a color (provided two options) that they did not have in stock. It has been almost a month now and they still haven't located my color which a reasonable amount of miles on it (as a new car). Is this ridiculous or is the market really that thin right now?
  • ken117ken117 Member Posts: 249
Why advise someone to pay the document fee? That fee is nothing but pure profit for the dealer. It is not required by law or any other basis. When I buy, I always have the price reduced to account for the document fee. If I agree to a price of $25,000 and the dealer insists on a $99 document fee, I simply insist the dealer reduce the price to $24,900 plus $99. In my experience not many dealers will lose a sale over the document fee. In my state the document fee appears to be limited to $99, which is not too bad. In my nieghboring state the fee is up to $399. No way I would ever pay a dealer $399 or more for them to complete the "documents". Buyers should recognize there is always another dealer down the road who will "waive" the document fee.

Hi there! I went to a Honda dealership today and I really want to buy a 2012 Civic 2Dr Coupe LX in blue upgraded with leather seats and the dealer quoted me $21, 225. That's not including any dealer fees, tax, etc. I felt that it was quite high. Any advice? I'm currently thinking about just going for a 2011 Toyota Camry with leather seats for $17,000 (+ fees) because it seems a sweeter deal. Pro's/Con's or comparison of these two would be greatly appreciated! Or just any feedback on the price. Thanks guys!

I'm going tonight to pick up my 2012 EX-L with/Nav Sedan. I offered $22,958 + TTL and it was accepted. This is $1,207 below the Edmunds True Market Value so I feel like its a good deal. Is it?
  • clemsonsteveclemsonsteve Member Posts: 3
I think that is a great price. The invoice should be around $22,300. You are very close to that number and that is an awesome place to be!

Did they ever fix the omission of not having a trunk opener on the key fob yet? This is the one thing I hate about my '06 LX...even my '03 Sentra GXE had this feature! It can't be that much more $ to include this feature on the whole Civic lineup I'd think. And did they really drop down to 15" steelies for 2012? I've got the 16" wheels and the car does drive very smoothly. Ditto on the wife's Mazda3. Both kids have the 15" wheels on their rides and am not a huge fan. But I thought I had seen where Honda did indeed drop down a size for 2012. Again, if they did, what could the reason be?

Hello, i am getting a OTD price of $19,210 for a 2012 civic lx sedan. I feel the doc fee is high and i have no idea what $29 sticker fee is. However, the dealer has a $750 finance dealer cash promotion going on right now. So, $19210 minus the $750 is $18,460 and I'm thinking i can try to get them to lower the doc fee to $100 or so and remove the $29 sticker fee which would knock off another $229. So, best case scenario is $18,460 - $229 = $18,231 OTD. Would that be a good deal? By the way, i am located in Connecticut/Massachusetts.

    MSRP - $19,425
Bottom line price w/ destination fee- $17,655
    Tax (6.25%)- $1,103
    New plates - $125
    Documentation fee- $298
    Sticker- $29
Out the door price - $19,210

Hi I got a quote for a 2dr Honda Civic Coupe LX Auto for $15,988 excluding any fees to be financed with Honda financing. I probably need to check with what the dealer fees are. But is this too good to be true given that used 2010 versions are going for that price or higher?

Hi I'm also looking to get a new Civic LX Sedan and was wondering what the final price you paid was. I had an offer from Boch Honda for a 2011 Civic Coupe LX auto for $15988 including destination charge excluding all other fees.

I am also looking to buy a civic lx 4 door automatic sedan. I am in MA. Would love to hear what people paid OTD in MA. I am hoping to pay 18,800 to 19,000 OTD. I will be paying cash total amount.

Hi i got the same quote from boch honda. comes out to be $17,411 OTD. Not a bad price. Any chance these are showroom models? (Do they even sell cars shown in the showroom?)
  • niklovelyniklovely Member Posts: 1
The Honda Salesman that was dealing with us told his that the tsunami and its aftermath in Japan has really slowed down production of 2012 Honda Civics. Considering that, I'd like to think my price was a bit inflated. The salesman showed us an invoice of $17,771 for a 2012 Honda Civic LX after destination charge and they gave it to me for $17,971 and free window tint. I'd say it wasn't a bad deal because we got pretty much the same quote for a 2011 Toyota Corolla LE and there were NO other Honda Civic LXs available in our area.

I've had the car for one day and I love it so far, especially the Rallye Red Color.
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 265,514
Well... if it has slowed it down, it won't last long...

Honda just doubled their headcount and added a full second shift to the new plant that builds Civics in Indiana..

Wow, that almost sounds too good to be true. Dealer cost is $17,769 after destination/add fees and subtracting holdback (according to true car) for a 2012 4 dr lx aut sedan. Add taxes 6.25%, doc fees, and registr. on top of that. Wondering if I am missing something with my calculation.

My girlfriend just orderd a 2012 Civic EX automatic. The color is Dyno Blue and comes with the following dealer accessories:

    - Fog Lights
    - Front Under Spoiler
    - Side Under Spoiler
    - Rear Under Spoiler
    - All-Weather Floor Mats

The OTD price was $22,636. This price included PA sales tax and all fees. Deal or No Deal?

Hi, I am looking for Civic Lx 4dr sedan in MI.
What is the good price on it?
the dealer give me OTD price near 19400 without plate!
    Is it a good deal?
    Thx!!
  • vortix1vortix1 Member Posts: 22
OTD prices are useless, unless you're comparing with someone else that lives in your county/state. Tax, title, license, and maximum doc fees vary widely from state to state and county to county. Someone living in one state can't compare their OTD price with someone living in another state, unless you break down the price into base cost (w/ destination charge) + tax + title + license + any misc. dealer fees.
  • hondax4hondax4 Member Posts: 24
It's diffficult to say w/o knowledge of the Aftermarket adds and your tax , fees breakdown.

I'm in Houston and received a quote yesterday from a dealer in Dallas for a 2012 EX of $20,052 or 450. over invoice. At 6.25% tax w/fees of 250-would be 21,555 OTD. If your A/M equipment is worth the additional 1100. to you then go for it

Civic production is just picking up- We have several large dealers in our Metro area and most have very few Civics. If you can get invoice or under would consider it a good deal at this time.

If you can wait- Do it. Pricing will get better in next couple of months.

I was also given an offer of 2012 SE Accord for 20,969 or 1500 under invoice. Much improved inventories....
  • hondax4hondax4 Member Posts: 24
Couldn't agree with you more. Base price is what everyone should be discussing. Should also note that destination is included- unavoidable for all of us.

Anyone can then add TTL and local fees to get the OTD price for their region.

Inventory levels are going up so you guys should be able to get better deals within the next few weeks

I bought my 2011 Civic in March and the cars.com inventory level was ~1100 Civics in my area (right before the part shortage thing started), over the summer and including last month it stayed around 200-250 Civics -- I just checked today and its up to 700 Civics so much better than the past few months but not as good as normal levels earlier this year

in NJ, a 2012 Civic EXL can be had for 20,300 (includes destination & fees), but this is a "friends & family" price. just some extra info for you folks to utilize in negotiations. i've decided on a '12 Subaru Impreza instead of a Civic, for just a few hundred more oyu get AWD and a much better car overall.
