There are a limited number of actually produced option combinations that the Toyota factories produce each year regardless of what the option list says on paper.

That is correct - and since Toyota does that stupid "regional" thing what YOU may can order is not the same as what I could order in some cases. A friend was cross-shopping the CR-V and RAV4 a couple of years ago and ran into this - in our region you could not get the options in the combo he wanted. Honda is much simpler - and what he got. My wife likes the looks of the Matrix but again finding what we wanted was not possible, but you could (oddly) if you shopped the Vibe at a Pontiac store.

Toyota has become almost "GM-like" with the number of options. The frustrating part is trying to find a car like you want - and when you can't you try to order it and find out you can't.

There is no "title" on a new car - you would get either a MSO or MCO (manufacturer's certificate/statement of origin). It sort of LOOKS like a title and is your car's "birth certificate". The dealer may not have the MSO in the office at the lot, in fact others here have reported that they had to wait a few days to get one. When I have done the title duties for cars I leased/purchased out of state they NEVER have handed me the MSO with the car - they always mailed/overnighted it to me later.

So the answer to your question is "probably not".

Invoice on the LX I4 AT is $19,458 so your price ($18,775 + $398 = $19,173) is $285 under invoice when you include the dealer fee. I would say that was a decent price - anytime you can get a new Accord for under invoice including destination and dealer fee you have a good deal. Edmunds does not show any dealer money on 07 Accords, but we think there must be, right?

If it were me, I would look at the sedan I4 SE ($20,087 invoice). Not that much money, but you get alloy wheels, rear disc brakes, 6 disc changer, etc. See if they will give you a similar price on the SE.

Thanks a lot for your reply! One more question, does the 2007 Accord SE 4D AT have a alarm system? Thanks.
  • dzyr4ttdzyr4tt Member Posts: 21
    Hello,

2nd that on the SE...I am loving mine...And I definetly think you can get an SE for that price..

I bought mine during the final days of October and I got the SE 4 cylinder AT for 19,925 OTD...before some one says OTD is meaning less because of variance in State taxes,
    heres the break down...

Car including destination, dealer processing fee -->19,2xx.xx
    State tax 3% --> 57x.xx
    Documentation, title -->10x.xx

So that total came out to be 19,925.xx otd..

but they made their money in Fiancing as I got 8.49 Apr.. refinancing as I type this...

but I also know that in October , Honda was givin the dealers 750 dollars incentive ( am not sure, i remember reading that...)

    and this in Northern Virginia...

I'm in NJ also and want to get a 2007 Accord SE-v4 4D AT on this weekend. So can you email me the dealer's detail contact info at ybluey@yahoo.com? Thanks!

Sounds like they are trying to clear out the lots for the new year. I wish I could swing a deal now.
  • dorccadorcca Member Posts: 23
    Hi yykk,

Sent you dealer info. Good luck!
  • dorccadorcca Member Posts: 23
    I agreed with dwynne.

Two toyota dealers told me that I could only get VSC in XLE. Only one Toyota dealer responded to my request for quote seems to support the fact tht there is litter interest which the dealers have. It is extremely unlikely that I could get VSC in a lesser trim. If they could, I would be paying a higher price.

With Honda discounting $1K below invoice, even if they could find VSC in LE or SE, the difference in price will still be about $3K or so. The prospective buyers will need to decide if the Camry V6 worth that much more.
  • vince_lmtvince_lmt Member Posts: 25
While this is a Honda forum I will post a brief reply that vehicle stability and traction control is an option that can be installed on any model Camry, regardless if it is a 4 or a 6. The retail cost is about $600.

Currently, stability control and traction control are available only on V6 Accords.

You cannot order it on a 4 cylinder Camry for now. So in reality it is available only on V6 models, just like the Accord. However only some V6 Camrys have the option while it is standard on V6 Accords.
Well actually, you can "order" it, but you will not ever receive it because it will not be built. So, it is pointless charade to go through the ordering process.
Most dealers will tell you not to bother and some are quite willing to hold your deposit forever while you waste your time waiting for something that will never come.

There are only 2 Honda dealers in Charlotte. Just go to both of them and ask.
  • dwynnedwynne Member Posts: 4,018
No security system on the SE, you have to move up to the EX to get that. See the feature list at this link.

You can order it for the SE from H&A for $136.80 + shipping and put it in yourself (PDF is online to show how much trouble it is) or you can get quotes from any Honda dealer buy and install it. You may be able to get quotes online via estore.honda.com but might get better prices if you called and talk to someone in parts and service.

I think the $18,150 basic price for a 2007 Accord LX Auto is a great deal. I am also considering buying this model and I live near Orange county. Would you please tell me the name of this dealer? I would like to get a quote from them.

    Thanks a lot.

In preparation for buying a new car I have been cross shopping both the Camry and the Accord. I have visited 7 Toyota dealerships and the majority of the Toyota Camrys (LE with 4 cylinders) on the lots, that retail from the low 20's have option package VS (stability and traction control) pre installed.

Also, visit Fitzgerald Auto Mall's website at Fitzmall.com and browse their Camry inventory. Option package VS appears on many, but not all, 4 cylinder LE's with Fitzmall's "Delivered Internet Price" over $20,000.

You guys have any info for dealers in central TX.... Im looking at different models but on accords the best I got was like 21k out the door for an SE A/T 07 from a dealer in san antonio???
  • tkrivotkrivo Member Posts: 7
New to the forum, but just received a SE quote for $19,242, w/o destination, about $250 below invoice.

Just test drove the new Altima, nice, but they couldn't come close to the SE apples to apples. They mentioned to me that Honda was having trouble with the transmission on the '06 and '07 and this is why they are offering such good prices, he said they have a $2000 rebate built in, anyone heard anything about this?
  • hondaguy697hondaguy697 Member Posts: 25
havent heard any of that....my wife drives an 06 ex and I just totaled my 06exl (reason for the shopping) and she has had no issues. sounds like competition BS to me.

Any way of knowing OTD on that tho...because I dont deal in Car Price...I deal in Drive-Out. I have found that no matter what someone charges for a car...its what bottom line is that matters.
  • tkrivotkrivo Member Posts: 7
$19,827.00 including destination (595) and splash guards, plus DMV fees (218) - I'm in Oregon. So, $20,045 OTD, assuming no other additions, I've received matching quotes from 2 other dealerships, so I think it's pretty solid.

I agree on the dealer BS, they had a stack of '06 Altimas on the lot. Thanks for the input, I'll probably be picking up the SE this week.
  • thegraduatethegraduate Member Posts: 9,731
That Nissan guy is feeding you a line. Honda had trouble with V6 models' transmissions in 2003 and early 2004, but even those had a MAJOR extended warranty added to them, I believe beyond 100k miles!

The 4-cylinder's haven't had these transmission troubles.

I don't think there is a $2,000 rebate on Accords, either. If you like the Altima, I'd still skip on that dealership, because it sounds like a really slimy place to be.
  • tkrivotkrivo Member Posts: 7
I just stopped in the Nissan dealership because I liked the looks of the new Altima, but it's not worth $2k more, which is what they got down to.

Another note, After sitting down with a couple of Honda dealers and showing them the quote, it's funny to see them start criticizing the other dealers, man it's nice to go in armed with the facts, then you really see whether they want your business. Anyone really see a benefit of staying with your local dealership if it's close on price? I could buy in town, but they are going to charge me invoice instead of $250 below...worth it?
  • yykkyykk Member Posts: 14
Thanks a lot Dennis! You are very helpful, I really appreciate it.
  • tex18tex18 Member Posts: 82
Where in Central Texas are you? Killeen? Austin? I brought mine from Gunn Honda in San Antonio........beat my local dealer by $700 on the car and $1000 on the trade.
  • jaxs1jaxs1 Member Posts: 2,697
It is region specific. I put the zip code for the Fitzgerald dealership in at the Toyota web site and they show VSC available on some 4 cylinder Camry option packages which is why the Fitzmall dealer has them.

However, it is only available in selected regions. You cannot have your dealership order it for you in California and ever expect to receive it.
They will only build and ship the sets of options that go with your dealership's region.
You cannot just order whatever you want from the list of Camry options. You have to pick one of the option combos listed on the Toyota web site after you enter your zip code.
  • hondaguy697hondaguy697 Member Posts: 25
Im actually in houston till tommorrow but nobody here has beat the price quote at gunn, and i actually live near canyon lake. they seem to back their talk....and the guy im working with gave me no BS and he drew up the drive out while i was on the phone took like 5 minutes... from reading the stuff on here im glad i called them.

i think he said they have a christmas thing going on where a lot of their stuff is way below invoice.

  • tex18tex18 Member Posts: 82

  • hondaguy697hondaguy697 Member Posts: 25

  • blueszbluesz Member Posts: 11
It seems I can hardly press the dealer to lower the price....

Anybody get much better deal recently?

    2007 4dr 4cyl. SE Accord $19,403.00 Plus Tax $582.09 Doc. $299.00 Tags $74.00 out the door price of $20,372.09
  • hondaguy697hondaguy697 Member Posts: 25
dosent it have the immobilizer, the remote key and the panic thing? i always considered that a sec sys. i hat the beeping horn thing. just wondering......
  • hondaguy697hondaguy697 Member Posts: 25
i just dont understnad these 300-400 doc fees. the dealer im working with broke it down like this...

    19,189.00 car price
    1199.31 taxes (6.25% in TX)
    48.78 inventory tax
    127.05 licence and registraiton
    50.00 Documentation
    20,614.14 OTD

thats got to be a profit thing cause the only difference between mine and yours is i pay 700 more in taxes and reg fees here than you do in you state. so that combined with the extra mony on the car you should be able to get it for 1000 less than you are!!!!!!!

    my math is right ...right?
  • thegraduatethegraduate Member Posts: 9,731
Yes, all Accords have the remote/panic/immobilizer. Only EX I-4 Accords have the alarm system (which activates after being locked by the remote - if the car is unlocked without the remote, (say, by reaching into a rolled-down window) the alarm will sound.

The beeping horn thing that the panic button does is the exact same thing that the alarm will do if it senses a break-in.

Go to Honda.com and you will see all the options for each model.

Floor mats are standard features on Accords now. If they try to charge you extra for the basic carpeted mats, they are ripping you off.

Since we are on Edmunds and we can't discuss salespeople names, the fact he sent you a pic tells me its the same that dealt with me. He is pretty stand up and will give you the best price................the decision will then be in your court........like you stated decisions, decisions.

If it's the same person on the TOV site then it's the best price in the area and easiest buying process.

The Lowest quote that I received for Honda accord EXL 4 cyclinder AT 2007 is 22500 in Orange county. It does not include the doc fees, tax, license. It includes the following accesories
    1. wheel lock
    2. mud guard
    3. protection paint
    4. edge guard
    5. cargo tray

Can anybody advise, if the protection paint is really required accessories. I just dont want to buy it because dealer wants it to sell.

Through cardirect.com, I got the quote of 22375 yesterday for the above specification. Again this does not include license, tax, doc fees.

I am not sure, if this is very good deal. But I cannt find anything lower than this . Comments, welcome.

    regards

    Hi sulabhs,
What dealer are you working with in Orange county? My best quote so far is 22561 +TTL (No accessories)thru a KBB referral. Seems like your
price beats that. If you could post the dealer or email me? Thanks.

In April of this year, 2006, my "aunt", she's known me since I was born and my mother even longer, and I were going out to find a car for me as an early graduation present from high school. We went to Denny Hecker's Toyota in Inver Grove Heights, MN and there was a dark green Honda Accord. The car had literally only been there for about a week and they had just finished with the prep work of oil changes washing the car and cleaning the interior. So anyway I jumped in to take it for a test drive, and noted that it only had 102,000 miles on it and was very roomy, which one would not think to look at it. Now I'm an average 5ft 9in so I don't know if I have room to make that distinction.

Anyway, to get to the point of the post, they were asking $5981 or thereabouts for it. However, since I went in there with $1000 to put down I walked out with the car for just over $5300 all fees included. I didn't feel as though I was being pressured into anything and it was all very relaxing.

It is the best car that I've owned, and even though I'm 18 I've had 4 this one included. I have had no problems, but am getting ready to have all of the fluids changed out and I am going to have the timing belt replaced soon. I am definately going to buy another Accord when I am ready to get another car.

I apologize about the length of this post, but I feel this somes up my feelings about the Emperor Yamamoto, what I named the car for vaguely obvious reasons.
