Okay, so we're on the way home from the Dodger game yesterday and my wife asks, "Can you do something to make the car accelerate a little faster?".

I guess I'll be looking to see if there are any of the standard "go-fast" mods available for the Envoy to help her out. :-)

Anyone know if there are any air filters, intakes, headers, and mufflers available yet for the Envoy?

    TIA.

Has anyone found a rubber/vinyl cargo area mat for the 2002 Envoy? (original or aftermarket?)
  • wboatrwboatr Member Posts: 5
haven't seen any aftermarket products yet, but if any are available, my preferences would be---K&N air filter, quality dual exhaust (borla, etc.), cargo and passenger mats--for those rainy, muddy days, and some type of lift for the front---to level the stance of the Envoy from that forward slant--also would help ground clearance.

I plan to stop into a flooring store and get some black rubber matting for the back of my Envoy.
I'll cut it to fit. With all the gardening crap my wife loads into the back, that should do the job.
  • lgspencelgspence Member Posts: 15
    Zeen,
What exactly is this matting, is it a floor tile of some sort? many pieces or one?

    Hi
Here is an e-mail I received from Husky Liners. They say they are now carrying mats and liners for the 2002 Envoy. Hope this helps out. They sent some pictures and I can forward them if anyone is interested.

    Hi
I have been watching your web site for a cargo liner for a 2002 GMC Envoy. Do you know if and when they will be available.
    Thanks
    Jim

    From: Steve Bower [mailto:husky@hit.net]
    Jim,

Sometimes our web site is slow to update. The cargo liner along with the front and second seat liners are available for the Envoy/Trailblazer/Bravada. Here are the part numbers:
    #2200x—cargo liner
    #3200x—front liners
    #6200x—second seat liners

“x”=1 for black color liners, “x”=2 for gray color liners and “x”=3 for tan liners

Jrsces: would you please forward the photos to me at lgspence@verizon.net. Do you know if GMC offers OEM cargo liners for the Envoy?
  • zeenzeen Member Posts: 401
It's like a carpet runner. It's used in industrial buildings over carpet. It comes in a roll and is cut to the length you need. Not all flooring stores carry it. It's basically the same as a rubber front door mat only it comes on a long roll and comes in different widths.

Could I get those pictures too? My email is rtrauthw@yahoo.com

I know Gibson is working on an exhaust system. I would expect someone will come up with a more efficient intake soon.

Hopefully Hypertech or one of the other programmers will develop a premium fuel spark curve that should be good for a few ponies.

I'd also like to see someone come up a a mild lowering package, 19" wheels, and suspension tweaks to tighten the handling up.

Has anyone found the best price for these yet, I have been looking and defiantly want these for my Envoy

I recently ordered a cargo mat from a local GMC dealer's parts dept. I paid $52 + tax, and it arrived in one week. It's got the Envoy logo and matches the interior perfectly. I recommend this approach!

Thought I'd paste this in here for reference for TB / Envoy Running Boards

    2002 Envoy Running Boards-Final Chapter by jw4gm Aug 27, 2001 (06:06 am)

A few weeks back, I reported that running board #12497885 did NOT fit my Envoy. Since I still wanted running boards, I went to my GMC dealer, copied the VIN of a new Envoy with running boards, took the VIN to the parts counter and asked the parts guy to check the options list for that Envoy and give me the part number of the factory installed running boards. He readily complied and part #12497886 showed up. The list price was $329. I asked him to match the gmpartsdirect.com price of $247 and he did (but did add tax). They came in six days later and fit perfectly. The kit includes mounting bolts and instructions and the boards are OEM. Ironically, the instruction sheet is identical to the one in kit #12497885 (Envoy/Trailblazer) I got from gmpartsdirect.com.

    Bottom line:

    12497885 are TB

    12497886 are Envoy

    Use http://www.gmpartsdirect.com to order

MacNiel makes deflectors for the 2002 Trio:

    http://www.macneilauto.com

    TrailBlazer: Part No: 50077 $54.95 $12.00 S&H

    Bravada: Part No: 50078

    Envoy: Part No: 50079

But Automotive Interiors (www.automtiveinteriors.com) will sell you one at their price of $45 + 12 S&H.

Installation required NO DRILLING, only a screwdriver. They give you plastic plugs for the factory square holes under the hood, along with screws rubber washers. Side sections had 3M tape.

I just checked the price for the #12497886 running boards on the gmpartsdirect web site and they are priced at $203.00

Can anyone who has installed the OEM running boards for the 2002 Envoy tell me if it ws very difficult? I am planning on ordering the boards form GMpartsdirect and I am pretty handy. I just don't want to get them if they require drilling/ or any major work or tools. It sounds like it should be pretty simple, but I want to get some 1st hand input. Thanks in advance. You can post on this board or e-mail me at alpesh_jethva@yahoo.com.

I recently added the Manik step bars to my 2002 Envoy. I love the way they look and how easy they were to mount (5 minutes per side; no drilling using stock tapped holes).

Unfortunately, it was not easy to purchase them.
    - Ordered in August
    - Received in mid October WITHOUT any mounting hardware
    - Received the mounting hardware EXCEPT 6 bolts in early November
    - Received remaining bolts in mid November.

I also removed the "Envoy" trim from the tailgate today (thanks Tim!) and put a 3" chrome / round exhaust tip on (had to cut the end of the stock exhaust tip to make it work).

There is a picture in the picture forum....

Just installed a set of AutoVentShade window visors and taillight covers on my 2002 Envoy. The taillight blackouts really set off the rear of the Envoy since they match the rear fascia that surround the rear glass perfectly. I ordered them thru special orders of carparts.com / jcwhitney.com.

THESE ARE 2002- GMC ENVOY PART NUMBERS ONLY!
Refer to autoventshade.com for particular application.
    VentVisor 4Pc set Part number 94802 $54.95
    TailShades Part number 33250 $44.95
Slots Taillight Covers Part number 36316 $34.95

(Tailshades are translucent blackouts -- tailights/brake lights shine thru when on -- recommend replacing bulbs w/ halogens)
May be illegal in some locales -- check local laws before ordering!

After seeing the paint destroyed on the front-end of my last two Jimmy's, I'm looking at these "Invisible Bra's" made by Invinca-Shield. It is a clear 3M film. Does anyone have any experience with these?

Thanks to all who post here, got some great info. Haven't seen this anywhere, so I thought I would pass it along. I purchased the grill insert from my dealer. Got it for $275. Your mileage may vary, probably a little high. Click on next package options to see what they offer. Couldn't get prices from the site, but you could take #'s to your dealer and order through them.

uhltronics makes a "triad" adapter that will allow you to use a Nokia handsfree kit in conjunction with your OnStar system to hear the phone audio thru the stereo system....The site notes it's for SAABs, but if you read the FAQ you can use it with ANY OnStar equipped vehicle...

    Hey there all:

Just got my Catch-All 4pc mats (two front, one single center, and rear cargo mat) from an online retailer that nobody has mentioned yet:

    http://www.sportwing.com/catchall/4piece.asp

Found them for $210 plus shipping ($20 or so?); I think that's the best price I could find online for the Catch-All mats.

I'm pleased with them all. However, the cargo liner could have some ports cut out for the cargo net / baby seat fastening system, but I don't really care about those details.

  • bryancosbryancos Member Posts: 282
I noticed that about most mats.. there's no cutouts for the floor anchors.. nothing a sharp blade can't take care of, but it is annoying not to be able to use the cargo net at times.

For those who aren't already aware, there's multiple forums here for Envoy/TB/Bravada owners. If you're looking for something that's not shown here, take a peek at one of the other boards listed. Perhaps the HOSTS should consider making them all into a single site, like the main "My 2002..." board. Bryancos or anyone:
How do the OEM running boards attach to the Envoy? Is there a hardware kit with brackets/bolts included? Is drilling required or do they use pre-existing holes in the frame? Can a dummy like me do it? Also, does anyone know what the weight tolerance of running boards or tube steps would be?

    Secondly:
About the molded plastic GM splash guards you mentioned. Do these come with mounting hardware and is drilling required? Is this something I can install, or should I have a dealer.

Do y'all recommend both the splash guards and the running boards to decrease rockchip damage? I actually like the tube steps better than running boards, but I doubt that they would be as much protection.
    Thanks.
  • bryancosbryancos Member Posts: 282
OEM boards attach to the factory frame, and come with a hardware kit. They use existing holes. Not sure what the weight specs are, the dealer parts dept. may be able to tell you. They're not hard to install...just helps if you're able to get under the vehicle to tighten everything down. The splash guards were cake to install. Some drilling is required, but only into plastic. I did it in my driveway. No need to remove wheels, but you do have to turn the front wheels to their extremes to tighten screws, etc. As for boards vs. tubes, it's just a matter of preference and depends on what type of driving you do... I like the look of the tubes too...

Has anyone seen any brush-guards and/or push bars for the Envoy yet. I live in NYC, where pararell parking is quite frequent. I am nervous about others playing bumper cars with my parked vehicle.

I'd like to get a "safari" type bar for the front end for use w/ auxillary lighting, but am waiting to locate a manufacturer and part number.

Does any one know what's the Denali package for the Envoy included? I saw one on the road, it look great. I'm going to order an 2003 envoy, but the dealer that I went to do not know what's the Denali package includes.
    Thanks

They are a great investment. I used to install them for M-Benz. Better than Stonegard. The Invinca-shield has relief cuts in portions that meet contours of the body. If you have tinted windows or have mechanical aptitude, you can do this. I did my '98 Audi A4 Quattro and it still looks like brand new. And recently applied a full front-end (deluxe) kit on our 2003 metalic Green Envoy. I even purchased raw material and did the tailgate to keep the wife from scratching the finish with her rings.

Has anyone replaced the factory unit with an aftermarket one? Any suggestions?
I have K&N's on my other 3 rides and like them. I don't like the open cone systems... too noisy and draw warm air from the engine compartment. I had to laugh when I tore apart the airbox where the air cleaner is. What idiot designed that thing? Enough plastic surrounding the element to float the SUV if it went in the drink. Ha!

Intend to purchase 2003 Envoy XL. Hung up on which engine to go with - the 4200-6 or 5300-8. Heard a lot of good things about the 4200 6 cylinder. However concerned if this has enough power for XL version. I will NOT be towing. Appreciate your comments.
  • seifordseiford Member Posts: 68
I agree with hassmeister (Msg #48) that an Invinca-Sheild is a great idea. I had the 3M protective film put on a car after a new hood was put on and it still looks new after 6 years.

We installed the standard kit from Invinca-Shield today. It looks great, but allow at least 2 hours and do it when you have patience. I had trouble with the hood piece and ended up having to trim some material in 2 places.
  • seifordseiford Member Posts: 68
Does anyone know of a place that sells wheel well trim for the Envoy? I don't like the "unfinished" look of the wheel well.
