I'm in NC and the price before ttl is $22.360. Tax is 3% ($670.80) and $688 dealer fees.
Car with options: $25,730 (which includes $1,000 cash "rebate")
DMV fee: $350
Doc fee: $399
I would normally try to negotiate the DMV and doc fees, but even with those fees, the offer is still about $1,700 below invoice.
This seems like a great deal. Am I missing something?
Thanks!
You know, considering that I sent the quote request from Edmunds....I'd appreciate it if dealers didn't try to act like I haven't seen the Edmunds TMV report.
Going to try to take my business to dealers that don't treat me like a gullible idiot.
Invoice: $22,199
Total OTD w/ 6yr/75 warranty and 0.9% for 60month financing+TTL: $25,300
phenomenal deal and very happy about it. This is with 8% chicago tax.
Took 4 hrs at the dealership from 6-11pm but oh so worth it.
My tips is to bring an actual printed quote from internet sales specialists with all the nearby dealerships and then find the dealership that has the most inventory and work the deal there. TRUECAR is pretty spot on, id say if you do your work you can get under the lowest price by about $500.
I got under that # due to a mistake made on a quote from competing dealership and my dealership saying they have to beat any quote by atleast $100.
Is this price good or should I ask for less.?? The car in question here does not have any packages., its a base 2.5S model.

I got a quote of 18900 before tax and docs fee, for an Ocean Gray 2010 Altima 2.5S. I am in AZ and the tax rate is 9% approx.

Please I need an opinion on this one
Then buy or lease. The lower the selling price the better the lease payment should be.
I wouldn't let them use the MSRP for leases...ever.
Those 40 cars are all going to have different handling/performance traits, you can't possibly boil it all down to numbers.
Car with options: $25,638 (which includes $1,000 cash "rebate")
TTL : 1050
I got the quote from Carmax in Maryland. Considering it as a "no-haggle" price, is it a good deal?
Thanks!
"Price includes freight charge but excludes tax, tags and title fees and $99 dealer processing charge (not required by law)."
does that answer your question?
Thanks
You can get if for 19.5 K for Standard 2.5 S. Get internet quotes from all the dealers near your location or a big city near your location. Call dealers near your location and ask them to price match or beat the lowest quote you got.
To see what others are paying in your area try www.truecar.com. Don't forget to add about 10% for CA tax. 20K OTD means about 18K for the car. Tough to do.
MSRP $28090.00
price $24,977
TTL-$2585
less $2K rebate

I think I did great!
had credit union lending so it was a pretty easy transaction, and I LOVE the new car!

San Diego County Tax rate 8.75%
Window Price: 23,995

I think it's not super cheap but I am happy with it.
Another lady got a Altima 2.5 S in black, no package like less than 20,000, since she was negotiating kinda loud..
Preferably, it'd be a 2.5S coupe, dark slate, with the convenience and premium package, but if I can't get a decent deal with the premium package, just the convenience package.
Thank you
I have only owned Nissan vehicles till now. However Altima was worst piece of car that I bought. Its catalytic converter blew twice. First time it was at 78K mile and Nissan changed it. Second time it happened at 98 K mile. It disintegrated and engine got damaged. Nissan refused to address it saying that it is out of warranty. I could find numerous reports on similar issues e.g. in Edmunds forum and at http://forums.caranddriver.com/showthread.php?t=1627211.
I finally got rid of my 2002 car with 102,000 miles for $2500. I will never buy a Nissan again.
I discussed this with their customer support. Nissan is not even ready to recognize it as a problem. They just made me go to a dealer for investigation. Dealer confirmed that engine is destroyed. Nissan washed their hand saying being over 80K miles, I am out of warranty.

My family member only wanted Winter Frost White or Ocean Gray with the Frost interior and the Conv. and Conv. Plus Packages. Only found 2 Ocean Gray and 1 Winter Frost White in within 250 miles of Sacramento Country.
Another family member belongs to USAA and they have a pretty competitive car buying service with really good quotes. This dealer matched another dealer who didn't have the car in stock. They couldn't believe how low the quote was.
This Nissan dealer offers an 10 year/100K mile extended powertrain warranty, but only good at that dealer; however, maintenance work need not be done at that dealer for that warranty to be valid. Dealer also offers free lifetime car washes through the automated car wash, first oil change free, free t-shirt and mug.
All told - I think the deal was very fair. Consumer Reports rates the 2010 Altima 2.5S as the highest rated entry-level family sedan and the reliability has moved up to above average. Also Nissan extended CVT warranty to 10Y/120K. This late into this generation's lifecycle, I figure Nissan has worked out all the bugs.
Last week I purchased a 2010 Nissan Altima 2.5S Bright Silver with splash guards, carpet mats and aluminum kickplates for $18,309 OTD. The following is the breakup:
Car Price: $17,894.46
Dealer Service Charge: $599.00
GA Sales Tax: 1,294.54
Title + Lemon Law: $21
Cash Rebate: ($1,500)
Total OTD: $18,309
I paid cash. No financing.

Doc. Fee 199.00
Rebate ($500.00)
OTD: $23,827.12
I'm thinking with the 2011 Altimas coming out next month that this price could be much better. However the 0% financing and the rebate ENDS TODAY!! Is this a deal I should take? I can afford to wait 3-4 more weeks before I need to purchase. Do you think Nissan will come out with new incentives?
I just dealt with the dealers through e-mails only. Kept asking relentlessly for "out the door" price which most of them were reluctant to give.
If I could have waited another month or two I think I would have got an even better deal. But I needed the car urgently.
Just purchased the following:
2010 Altima 3.5 Sedan
Sport/Premium/Mats
Dark Slate/Black
Offered either $24,800 cash or $25,800 with 0% for 60, so I took the latter
$545 dealer handling
Probably could have gotten a little lower waiting until August, but the 3.5's are getting hard to find.
Good luck!
