Cheers Pat.
The SDRs would look nice on the F-XT. I'd think gunmetal, but would have to see 'em in the flesh first.
If it were me, I'd get the F-XT MT, add an aftermarket moonroof, get the rears tinted, and since you can't put a hood deflector on 'er I'd think about that clearguard stuff. Katskins would be nice as well, but I'm sure I could live with the cloth.
Pat - Titan is tinted right? What % did you do?
-Brian
I'd at least wait to hear pricing.

And ya know what? Given what I do in a car 99% of the time vs. the half dozen or so autocrosses every year, I'm almost of the mind that the FXT may be the better fit- shorter, narrower, easier to get in and out of urban traffic, east coast street and alleys, parallel park spaces, a little extra clearance for these lovely downtown streets and curbs, and a point-and-squirt factor second to none. Boy this fence is pointy, isn't it? :-))

just about, but not because it isn't a good car. I think, in the long run, the car geek in me is going to be happier knowing I've got a very nice powerplant with AVCS, and the broader torque curve. As I said earlier, I do suffer a bit of a mod hangover on the Legacy (not as bad as Colin's though), and I have a feeling I'll be looking for downpipes, uppipes, UTECS, and all the other things that suck up money and time. I still think swaybar upgrades are a good idea on both vehicles, and that isn't too hard to do, but I won't be looking forward to involved changes to the car's internals. And while a set of STi springs might be nice at some point, i'll be more cautious about degrading ride quality too much this time around, no matter what I end up getting.
Also, there's the extra goodies like the winter package and the slightly more upscale feel of the dash. And there's a bit more room vertically and in the shoulders too.
Having said all that, I still feel the WRX wagon represents a hell of a good deal in a remarkably versatile package. With prices here in MD now comfortably below $21,000, you are right in reminding me just how spanking good a deal it is. *shifts weight to make pain of fence more tolerable*

Cheers Pat.
More things in favor of the FXT:
Save the GT for your dw to upgrade too in a couple of years 8)* more attention to the L-GT should cause more people to get 'em (might make it more of a magnet for unnecessary attention)
* lots of WRXs out there (already a magnet for attention)
* not a lot of FXTs out there, most are silver (makes it appear more unique)
* the FXT is underappreciated by the press (and has decent upgrade potential)
-Brian
Yep Titan is tinted,15% in back 30% in front is what they used I believe.
They will not allow less than 30% on front police officer or others have to be able to see through it.
Cheers Pat.
Of course maybe you used a unique manufacturer that doesn't go with those industry standards...

Saab 9-2x.

Saab 9-2x, Pontiac Solstice, Nissan Pathfinder and Frontier.
Concept Cars
Acura sports car concept, Chevy Nomad, Saturn Curve and the Chrysler Enzo-eater.
I don't even consider the exotics (for production cars), as they have no relevance on my life.

My faves?
Production cars: Legacy GT, Solistice, Saab 9-2x, Volante convertible, 'vette, Grand Caravan (for stow-and-go seats), Freestyle, RX 400H & Highlander hybrids, and Pathfinder.
Elise was not shown, breaks my heart!
Cool concepts: Nomad (awesome), Jeep Rescue (as an H2 alternative), Range Rover Range Stormer (coolest SUV), Eclipse Concept-E (styling is once again interesting), VW Concept roadster.
Worst/ugliest cars? GM minivans, BMW 6 series' rear end, PT Cruiser convertible (cheesiest interior I have *ever* seen), QX56 (fixes none of the flaws on the Armada), Suzuki hatchback (noone even noticed), Mazda's premium small car (belongs in Tokyo), Vision GST (ugly + blind spots), and the winner for worst/ugliest car in show...
drum roll please...
VW Concept T!

The 5 into 1 exhaust of the V10 is just sculpture. Also check out the exposed chassis, in all carbon fiber:

You could touch the ceramic brake rotors and all. I could not believe how rigid the carbon fiber was. It's not new, but it has grown on me since it's debut. Some pics make it look sort of generic. Even now, I preferred looking at the naked chassis.

OK, juice hates the Cayenne, why share this?
Because that spare tire holder is absolutely comical. I like showing Cayenne's ugly side.

I didn't care for this top at all. Bob liked it OK. Guess I don't like the extensions on the side of the top that go beyond the rear windows, which is tiny.
I also don't like the hunch-backed rear view of the 6 series, so this photo shows both of my beefs with this model.
The front has grown on me and it now so-so, still, my guestbook has a comment that it looks like a Grand Am.

The tail lights echo the front headlights. The design flows consistently all the way around, no part stands out and says "Whoops" like in the Bimmer.

No way it deserves to share floor space with that roadster, no way no how. Hideous from every angle. They had to give is scissors doors or noone would even have looked at it.
My guess is they want to justify doing an overpriced Touareg 2 door, and wanted to see if they could draw attention.
Negative attention, maybe.

Following a long line of handsome concepts it their 8th. While I didn't care for the bi-sected head- and tail-lights, the design is otherwise swoopy and clean.
This is supposed to hint at the next Tiburon.

Flares looked good. Size was just right. 3rd row splits, so packaging looks better than the Exlporer.
They even kept the C-pillar of the Dunehawk concept. Wonder if the rain rails will drain water properly.

Anything would be an improvement over the current one, but Nissan has a good effort. The bed liner is sprayed in, and the moving tie-down system is just genius. They even come with covers for when you haul pea gravel or mulch that might get stuck in the tracks.
That face is the same as what goes on the PF.

Nissan Actic. Took us 5 minutes just to spell it. Dumbest concept name ever, perhaps.
Suicide doors we know will never make production. Goofy futuristic styling. Did nothing for me.
Next.

Biggest nose in the biz. Also the most desperate need for a nose job.
Enzo is also ugly. Why do supercars have to be slaves to the wind tunnels? Can't they be aerodynamic without these silly, upraised noses?

The front end grille is slightly overdone, but that's like complaining about a mole on supermodel.

But it did get a huge amount of attention, and has packaging that other manufacturers could learn from. Plenty of room for two, cool features, decent cargo room, in about half the space my Miata occupies. Well, almost.

Didn't really like the front, or the D-pillar, which would kill visibility. Pacifica is styled more cleanly.
Who will pay prices above the E-class for this thing? Beats me!

Looks better in person. The taillights are neatly detailed but you have to look close. Front end looks like any number of mid-engined race cars.
Good effort. They are countering the Ford GT, by the way.

Surprisingly, head room was good:

Also check out how the back portion of the roof raises with the hatch - how will they get water not to spill inside? Those rain gutters had better work well!

Brenda - no fair, the B9SC did not debut at NAIAS so it was not on my list of "new" concepts.

Looks like a cute Corolla coupe. I see a family resemblance to the new Lexus GS, even.
Cute enough, inoffensive. Finally Scion makes a car that doesn't have the speedo way over there in the center.

Toyota has cool tall wagons already and doesn't need this silly concept.
