Maybe because in the first 4 years the only maintenance is oil changes, tire rotations and "inspections" of other components of the car. Nothing that your local Jiffy Lube couldn't do for $40 every 5000 miles.

Thanks, what you said sounds reasonable. I may consider to cancel the maintenance plan and get my $1600 back from the dealer. The dealer said that I can cancel at any time. Hope that they will honor what they told me.

Hi, I have just purchased a new 2008 EX and am looking for a current Infiniti owner who has not yet redeemed their code for the American Express owner recommendation rewards promotion.

You could check out more information for the $150.00 rewards at: http://infinitiusa.com/rewards

If interested, please send me an email at donecho@gmail.com.

    Thank you.

let me know if they let you...my finance person was nice, and even though I knew better, she succeeded in making me feel stupid if I didn't pay for the maintenence. she claimed they charge $850 for 30k service. according to her chart, if you prepaid maintenence, you saved over 50% from dealer charge.
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
the only time a dealer sees my car is for warranty work. Look at the recommended service for 30K miles. An oil change, cabin filter change, tire rotation and inspections. I wouldn't doubt some dealers charging $850. I have seen around $500 here in Phoenix.

How soon after you purchased your G37 do you guys receive the redemption code in the mail? I have not received anything from Infiniti or its dealer of any sort, my purchase date was on memorial day.
  • pharm30pharm30 Member Posts: 36
I found a local shop in Phoenix on the net that specializes in Z/G's if anyone is interested. Alot of aftermarket stuff and pretty cheap service from what I've seen.
Might give them some business for routine service and the clear bra.
  • rdesmanrdesman Member Posts: 43
The redemption code was sent in the mail months ago to some (not all) previous Infiniti owners, not new ones.
It was to be used to motivate the current owner to the referral of a new car purchase by a friend, etc, but can be redeemed, if you buy another Infiniti yourself, in which case you get both American Express gift cards.
Your only hope for a reward, as a new Infiniti buyer, is to find someone who already has the redemption code and is willing to team up with you.
    Sorry.
  • jjg37jjg37 Member Posts: 12
    Thanks, rdesman!

So, I would imagine those old owners have all used their redemption code already? :confuse: It seems that there are several new owners here (including me) are still hoping people can team up for this gift card thing.

Anybody still holding his/her code and wants to use it? I'm in So Cal.

I am also in DFW area and looking for a G37 sedan.
Did you get the $2,000 market incentive on your purchase?
  • hebguy03hebguy03 Member Posts: 6
I purchased at invoice less almost $1,000. Best case would have been invoice less $2,000.
  • py777py777 Member Posts: 62
For those that are still looking to team up with a previous owner who still got their redemption code, you should try other forums. I think a lot of people who are on the Edmunds forum are looking to buy, rather than existing owners. There are a few but not as much. There are a lot of G35 or G37 discussion forums if you do a google search and post it there. I posted mine a few weeks ago and got several responses. There might still be a some available...

    Good luck.
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
Unfortunately most of the people that are posting requests for redemption codes are first time posters and don't bother reading any existing posts. So they will continue to post, not listening to your advice.

I am in Dallas and is shopping for a G37 sedan with premium package.
I have recevied a quote of $2,100 below invoice from a Dealer in Los Angeles.
I have to pay $550 for the door to door delivery so the net would be $1,550
below invoice. I haven't done out-of-state purchase before and don't know the process.
    Has anybody experienced out-of-state purchase?
  • magichourmagichour Member Posts: 3
I plan to buy a G37 within the next month and got a good quote from a local dealer. But I don't know if I should close the deal now and take advantage of the current $2000 dealer market support cash or wait until July. 4. Do you guys think Infiniti will have bigger promotion for the Independence Day Sale? Any advice?
  • joncar1joncar1 Member Posts: 7
Could you share which dealer you are talking to in LA? I'm looking for a specific color combo in Northern CA and can't find it. If the price is right I'll fly down there and buy it. The price of $2100 under invoice sounds like a good start.
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
I am sure that nothing will change until July 6th. Infiniti has a habit of not changing deals until after a holiday weekend, not before.

If I am looking to buy a G37, what is reasonable to expect to pay cash for a sedan with moonroof (no other options)? Are people paying invoice for 2009 versions yet?
  • pharm30pharm30 Member Posts: 36
I paid invoice - $200 for a Premium sedan with upgraded wheels ($34,700) and took 2.9% financing.

Had an interesting experience with a dealer's service department last week. I had some warranty work (center console squeeks badly) to do so I decided since I had 10k miles on the car I would have them do the oil change as well. The service rep calls me a couple of hours later saying they noticed I hadn't done my 7,500 mile service with them and do I want them to do it. In addition to the oil change and inspection they were already doing it would include tire rotation and balancing. I asked how much and he said $139. My next question was how much for the oil change and inspection. Answer was $39. Guess which one I chose? :) $100 extra to do a tire rotation and balance just because its called the "7,500 maintenance".

FYI in the $39 oil change they did all of the inspections (brakes, fluids, tires, filters, etc) required per the Infiniti mainteance schedule.

Interesting. Are tire changes still valid/worthwhile in this day and age? I suppose it might help ensure slightly more even wear, but the whole thing sounds quaint at best, a shameless money-maker at worst...

Hi, I've been shopping for 6MT sedan for the last few months and got some internet quotes from some of the so. cal dealers in late april. Last week I sent the same dealers request for quotes, they told me the newer inventory of cars carry higher MSRP than a few months ago. Anyone knows if this is the case? maybe due to currency fluctuations?
  • snagielsnagiel Member Posts: 750
No, MSRP is set by Infiniti and remains constant for the 2009 model year cars. The particular cars on the dealer lots obviously fluctuates, but feature-for-feature costs are the same now as they were a few months ago. You may get some more aggressive price quotes by calling and/or making a visit in person; the more likely a dealer senses you are to buying, the more they're likely to deal.
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
Actually Infiniti did make a MSRP adjustment in 2008 mid-model year, so they quite possibly could have done it again this year. I think last year increase was $400 around February.

I don't think we really need this for AWD but I think we should do this every 10-15K miles for FWD.

Just took my car to Discount Tire for a balance and rotate. They did it for free in 20 minutes even though it wasn't their rubber on the car. A perk for a prior customer I guess. Great company to do business with.

    hello mrjerrios,

sorry for late response. 09 Journey, Premium package (MSRP $37,225), paid all cash $34,600 out-of-door. Did I pay too much or is that a good deal?

I just bought a NEW 2009 G37 with premium/nav/performance tiers/cargo net from a local dealer in San Diego. I was shown with a service chart for how much they charge for so-called elite maintenance there. The elite plan has cost me $2100 for 5-year 750,000 miles and it doesn't include tires & brakes. Did I pay too much?
  • snagielsnagiel Member Posts: 750
I just reached a deal with a NoVA dealer for a G37X with Sport, Nav, Premium, and Tech (i.e. fairly loaded). MSRP was $43,580, and I negotiated a price of just under $38k. Adding TTL (for MD) and documentation, out-the-door price is $40,901. I'll be picking it up this weekend.

I don't know if inventory is thinning out or if finding models with this package combination has always been challenging, but there aren't a lot of them around. One of the local dealers found only a few in the NE region (Mass, NY, IL, and the one in NoVA I ended up purchasing). I was really hoping for a stone (gray) interior, but black seems to be the prevailing color (maybe only with sport package?).

As for competition, I also looked at/drove:

328i xDrive: Drove/handled superbly (as expected), but iDrive--for all its improvements over the past few years--is still clunky, and the option list quickly raises the price; a similarly loaded 328 ran close to $49k (and the 335, which is a more natural engine competitor, is well over fifty large, which is crazy)
TL SH-AWD: Nice car--handled better than I expected, but definitely not as sharply as the G37. Very roomy. The interior is handsome but the button and dash layout/design is highly confusing--the G37 feels much more intuitive by comparison.
IS 250AWD: Good handling reflexes, if somewhat more relaxed than most of the rest. Competent and smooth engine but nowhere near the power of the G37 or the TL. Highly refined and logical interior, but backseat is painfully small. Too bad they don't offer an IS 350AWD.
A4 2.0T: Surprisingly disappointing. Interior materials and design were top-notch, of course, but the handling felt very remote and disconnected; it may have been a function of the overboosted steering, but it definitely didn't inspire confidence. And the DVD-based NAV system felt like something out of 2002 (it was especially annoying since a large display in the showroom talked about the next generation NAV system in the Q5--these guys should figure out how to upgrade the entire line at the same time).

    Cheers.

Looks like you got a great deal...that was on a 2009, right?

I went through Passport Infiniti here in NOVA because the Tyson's dealership didn't have much of any selection...I went with the 37S, Silver, navigation and black interior.

How did the negotiations go...I'm curious if they offered you the same 1.9% they were offering back in April.

    Thanks!
  • snagielsnagiel Member Posts: 750
Yup, a 2009. I forgot to mention, the invoice was $39,895.

And, likewise, I'll be purchasing through Passport. I never even visited in person--did all the negotiations by phone since I live close to Baltimore. I'll be paying cash, so we didn't discuss financing specials (and that also may be why I was able to get such a good deal). They seemed to dig in their heels after one round of phone calls and gave me their best "we'll do it at this price but we can't go any lower because we're just breaking even" offer, but then were willing to drop it another $300 later that day when they saw I was willing to go with another dealer.

BTW, how do you find the black leather? I'm dreading how hot it will be in the summer sun...

I have black leather in Phoenix. Black heats up quicker, but after a half hour in the sun black leather is no hotter than tan leather.
