    Alpha01, all grades now receive standard front seat-mounted side airbags and side curtain airbags for all three rows. This is for 2006 Models.

    The pictures are of an '05 model. The '06 is basically a carryover so the site lists an '05 for an '06 because the crash results are the same EXCEPT that side airbags are now standard where they were optional on most trim levels for '05.

    The front end is the same as the '05 lengthwise. It may be a perception issue from the way the picture was taken.

    Just decided that I am going to wait for the '06 Sienna's to hit the lot instead of purchasing an '05. Can someone answer the following:
    1.) The actual date that the '06 will arrive in car lots in Canada
    2.) what will the approximate increase be in MSRP? If any?

    Looks much better than 2005. If your only objection to the 2004/05 styling was the front end, you should wait for the 2006.

    I just googled some key words and found it, I wish I could tell you where to find it, but I think our membership agreement would not permit it. Good luck hunting!

    Slightly different styling on the headlights and taillights as well.

    Toyota website says VSC can be had in the CE trim, but the build and price does not list it as part of the package options.....Will this change????

    Depends on your region. Toyota is notorious for making certain option packages available only in certain regions.

    A $35,000 Sienna XLE located in California might have different equipment than a $35,000 Sienna XLE located in New York.

    If you want a specific option package and color combo, you will probably have to settle or go the special order route.

    Can someone who has brought or seen a 06 Sienna tell me what size the DVD screen is. They said they would make them larger than the 05 Sienna by 2 inches is this true????

    I bought a 2006 Sienna but think the front end of the 2004/05 is more attractive. I would also prefer the CD and Cassette player in the 2005 to the 6 CD in dash changer with MP3 capability of my 2006. :cry:
    However, the instrument cluster of my 2006 Sienna LE is much more attractive than that of the 2005 Sienna LE. ;)

    Yes this is true.

    The 06 Siennas have a 9" DVD screen while the 05's have a 7" screen.

    I currently own 98 Sienna LE with 200,000+ miles. I am ready to buy a new minivan but discouraged due to these gas prices. I am wodering if Toyota is working to bring V4 Sienna like they have some models in Asia

    I doubt it. There is simply no market.

    The Sienna gets pretty good mileage for a car of its size though.

    Does anyone know about when the 07 models will come out? I am hoping that they do away with the run flat tires on the AWD version considering all the problems with these tires.

    The CAN'T do away with the run-flat tires on the AWD version until they figure out a non-invasive place to stow the spare.

    Any ideas?

    As pesky as those run flats are, Toyota has to keep them because there is no other place to put the spare tire and still have a fold flat third row seat and all the AWD gear.

    Can't they just do what Mazda does with the Miata...supply decent tires and a can of tire inflator? That would work for me.

    Uh, I think the typical buyer of a minivan would be slightly less 'adventurous' than a sportscar owner. I think trying to sell a prospective Sienna buyer on that whole concept might be a tad difficult.......

    I believe that you may see a hybrid Sienna in the new model, MY 2008, linking the 2.4L + HSD like in the the new Camry hybrid. This is already out in Japan for seveal years as the Estima.

    2.4L + HSD would give you V6 power like your 98 - 02 model but fuel economy - real world - in the low mid 30 mpg range. Most new owners of the sleeker, lighter hybrid Camry are reporting FE initially in the high 30 mpg range.

    This would be a killer benefit for the Sienna over the Odyssey. Fuel economy is so important to the typical van buyer with a tight budget.

    For example: take your choice
    $27000 LE V6 3.5L with 268 hp and estimated FE of 22 city and 29 Highway
    OR
    $27500 Sienna hybrid ( TSH ) with 190 hp and FE of 33 Highway and 38 City

    The new Sienna will definitely have the 3.5L powerplant now in the Avalon, RAV, Camry, ES350, RX350 and new Highlander. It's an amazing engine.

    We're all sure that Toyota will put that 3.5 engine in the new Sienna - along with the new 6-speed tranny... but the question is: WHEN? '07? '08??

    WOW! you got 200,000 miles. I would like to know what maintenance did you do. What are the problems did you have with this vehicle? I would like your input because I'm looking for a used 2002 Toyota Sienna. Thanks.

    Changed engine oil/filter every 5000-7000 miles
    Changed air filter every year
    Changed spark plugs 4 times so far
    Replaced tranny at 155,000 miles with one year old used tranny (That was my mistake because I did not change transmission oil for 60000-70000 miles). I strongly suggest to change transmission oil every 30,000 miles.
    Don't do everything which dealer suggests because lot of things they suggest don't make sense.

    Currently have ventillated seats (AC and heat) on my 05 Avalon. Has Toyota talk about offering them on the 07 or 08 Siennas. I live in FL and they are great in the summer.

    Did anyone notice this link states the 3.5 liter engine is AVAILABLE for 2007 model. Does this mean it will not be standard across the model line ? I was looking into 2007 LE model and this will be a deal breaker for me. Has anyone heard this ?

    From reading the threads, it sound like the 2007 Sienna is a few months away -- and I can't wait that long.

    So the decision for me is to by this week, or wait until September. Does anyone know, historically, if Toyota will increase their factory rebate (currently $1000 through 8/31/2006) on the 2006 models in September?

    WHERE did you read the FE 22 City and 29 Highway for the $ 27,000 LE V6 3.5L Sienna?
    Are these numbers BLOATED ( Overly Optimistic ) like the 2006 Ody 3.5L with VCM 20 city 28 highway were that have been reduced for 2007 to 19 city 27 highway? :lemon:

    The current Sienna is rated 19/27 with the 3.3L based on the old testing methods.

    The new 266 hp 3.5L which will be in the new '07's is significantly more efficient than the older engine. My guesstimate back in May was 22/29 City/Hwy. However according to the press release last week the new ratings are 19/26 City/Hwy.

    I will venture that the new ( more difficult ) EPA testing criteria are incorporated into these ratings since it will be mandatory for 2008 MY anyway. This engine will be in the new 2008's and beyond so I'd be shocked if it wasn't tested under those criteria.

    One of the dealer called me and said that 2007 invoice lists 3.3l and not 3.5l engine as projected. Can someone confirm as I hardly believe dealers.

    If thats the case than Odyssey is my first choice.

    Here is an email snippet that I got recently.

    "I am your Internet Sales Specialist here at Fitzgerald's. Regarding the 2007 Siennas, we expect these to begin arriving in January and we anticipate having pricing and ordering information sometime later this month. The only substantive change will the the change to the 3.5L V6."

    I still can't figure out why the delay and secret about this. I can think of two possible reasons: 1) there are some problems with the model that was identified late and could not be fixed in time for Jul/Sep/Oct release.

    or

    2) They over-produced 2006s and have to get rid of those first. I can still ses 50+ at large dealerships.

    I emailed Toyota and could not get straight answer from them. This is strange.

    How about issue #3 - Toyota is rolling the 3.5L out across its entire model line formerly powered by 3.0L/3.3L engines, AND its RWD platforms. Thats a TON of vehicles - and capacity/tooling requires significant changeover. My guess is that capacity was not there for Toyota to accomplish this all at once, and it was deemed much more important to have this engine available in other vehicles first (redesigned Camry, ES, '07 GS, etc).

    Just received the new pricing, in line with what FitzMall emailed to the prior poster.

    Yes the only change is the 3.5L

    Remember the 'anniversary' of this Gen Sienna is March. It was first intro'd as a 2004 in March of '03. Toyota has had great success with these 'early-in-the-year' launches.
    2003 Sienna
    2005 Avalon
    2006 Camry
    2007 Tundra???

    The Corolla recently has also been an early-in-the-year debut.

    Interesting observation....

    Do we have to wait till March :mad: ? Will this be 2008 Model, I don't think so :surprise: And if it comes out in March, wouldn't that would make 2008 model in September too soon?

    Since pricing was just announced I believe that the new 2007's are on the way. Typically the pricing comes out just before the vehicles do.

    Also the Holiday time is a big minivan purchasing period.

    Just a guess but I'd say the 'all new' 2009 Sienna will be out in about 18 months.. May/June of '08. Hopefully there will be a hybrid version in that debut.

    CE - 2 packages
    LE - 8 packages
    XLE - 12 packages
    XLE Ltd - 4 packages.
