Invoice price was 40,485. $350 discount off invoice plus $1000 for the college rebate program. $35,000 down, financed the rest with 3.54% apr. this was done at irvine BMW. Was this a good deal?
1. There was some confusion with when the CPO warranty would begin, but the final opinion was that it would start after the 4 yr/50k miles new car warranty was up, and I would get a full 6 yr/100k miles with the CPO-added warranty.
2. I was rather unimpressed with the CPO process. Service did nothing to the car but the inspection. I would have expected that at least an oil change would have been done. I asked whether the Nav's GPS data would be updated (it is three years old) but they said no.
3. Even with leasing the car for three years, my total out-of-pocket cost will be very nearly the $43.6k new car asking price. This was because BMW had excellent incentives for leasing a car in 2009.
4. I feel that this was a good deal (not a great deal), and got the dealship to throw in a new set of BMW floor mats.
In all, it was a very good experience working with this dealership, everything was set up by email before I needed to visit the showroom and the getting though the paperwork took less than an hour. Hope this is informative for someone.
Can some one let me know what would be the best out the price I can ask for BMW 328ix drive 2011 new car that has premium package on it. The dealer reduced the price on car to 35995 + tax. I am trying to buy the car and not lease it.
Thanks
Smith
I've never purchased a BMW before and want to see if this price sounds ok and how much you think I can negotiate. The car is in good shape, has only 40K miles (it's a 2004 model), it's loaded with all packages.
Asking $16,900. Haven't seen the car yet, and requested VIN# to get a carfax.
Also, should I have a mechanic inspect it before? I know it's a hassle for the seller and if it's a good deal I may lose it, but don't want to get stuck with a lemon either.
Thanks for your help!
Pablo
The additional $100-200 may well save you $1000's down the road.
As an additional step, I would also ask to see the car's history and service records. What you see (or don't see) there will tell you volumes about the car.
Good luck!

I don't see any additional Incentives on 335i at the moment. Any help would be great. Thanks!
Your money factor is being marked up - std money factor is .00145. Also you should look into doing Multiple Security Deposit if you can, google it to educate your self, you can put down add'l refundable deposits to lower the money factor, doing the math you basically earn 10-12% on your money by saving 40-50 per month on lease payment.
Also, you say Doc Fee of $900, I assume you mean bank fee, std bank fee is $725, so they are also marking that up and you should be able to negotiate that down.
Good luck
You may want to check bimmerfest.com as there are board sponsors on there who will easily do $400-500 over invoice on the 335i. They'll go lower on the 328i as the sales are rather soft...

My sister-in-law just got CPO '09 328i with 58k miles for the asking price of 20k at a NY dealership. Her previous car was a 3-series too, but it was ruled a total loss as a result of flood damage. Solid deal I thought and told her it sounded good. I couldn't accompany her at the dealership but the carfax appeared great and it was a 1-owner car.
She signed the paperwork yesterday and called me today after looking at her receipt in a panic. The dealership charged her $1,500 for the Wheel and Tire Protection Package and $2,600 for Maintenance, and apparently, they never explained it to her or informed her.
The Wheel and Tire Package sounds like a complete waste after reading it essentially covers flats/punctures and generalized non-cosmetic damage. I don't have the particulars for the maintenance program, but after reading up on it on the BMW USA website, it sounds like it basically extends the maintenance to 6 years/100,0000 miles. Seems redundant to me as CPO covers 6 years/100,000 miles? Or maybe it is a maintenance plan exclusively through the dealership and not through BMW USA?
I'm certain the Wheel package is a crock. But how about the maintenance? I've been out of the purchasing loop for a little bit, but this seems unfair and sneaky.
Anyone know if the purchaser can someone wiggle out of these fees after the fact? Car was purchased Saturday.
Thanks a bunch gang
The last list price I saw on the extended maintenance plan for an E90 was $2095.... but, that was a couple of years ago, so it may have increased.. $1500 seems like a lot for tire/wheel coverage...
I wouldn't purchase either one of those... If she wants to cancel, I'm sure there is a cancellation period... Just be aware that if she financed those items, the refund will go to the lender and be applied against the principle of the loan... She will still get the full benefit, but won't see an increase in cash flow until the loan pays up early.
When someone adds $4100 into your loan, you should notice the difference... always good to study an amortization calculator before you go, just so you know what the approximate payment should be... (If I borrow, $20K for 48 months at 3%, my payment is $443, etc...)

kyfdx

As for the wheel/tire package, what size wheels came on the car? If by some chance she has the 18" wheels, you might actually consider keeping that package. The wheels are ridiculously soft and the runflat tires will bubble pretty easily, too.
Of course, the cheaper option, if you have the 18" wheels, is to buy aftermarket 17" wheels and non-runflat tires.

With any lease first you get them to commit to a price BEFORE applying rebates. Second, you make sure the money factor is base and that all fees are normal. Then you apply max security deposits (lowering your money factor by .00049 - about $50 a month).
1. Selling price
2. Fees
3. MF
4. Fees
5. MSDs
Cap cost reduction only works if you need to lower your car's cap cost a little to get cheaper MSDs.

The maintenance is a separate plan to that of the warranty. The tire plan is basically a crock because you can practically buy new tires for that price. Read the find print as I am sure you can cancel both as he said. They will surely give you a hard time on doing it though by trying to make you feel like it is a stupid decision.
On my first car the same thing happened to me with an extended warranty. I ended up going down to the dealership and canceling my warranty and it took a year off my payments. Interest rates were a bit higher than, so it may not have the same impact on her, but that's how it's done.
However, you could likely refinance right away if you really want to keep the same loan duration.
And as kyfdx said before, read things carefully. If there isn't n out, most places won't just be nice about it.
Did you say the 328 is body style is dead? ...I didn't look at the style, just how it drives and the interior. What might be a good price to buy at this time? Thanks. The guy is still talking MSRP, and it's a 2012!
What would be the good sale price?
BTW, I almost bought a 2012 535xdrive for 8500 under msrp but cancelled it considering the fun factor to be more in 3 series.
Thanks in advance!
Now deciding to buy 3 series locally. What would be good price for 3 series for msrp of 56k?
